    Elite 11 as DLC?

Any chance that EA would release a stripped version of Elite around the time of the NBA Playoffs like they did the NCAA Basketball 09 MME?

I actually like this idea, this way the team could just focus fixing up the gameplay for Elite 11. They won't have to worry about making improvements to franchise or Be a Legend, they can save that for Elite 12.

The only ideas going into Elite 11 should be on fixing the gameplay. Clean up the animations in the paint, tune the shooting, improve AI. Nothing major like graphic updates or changes in control just give us a more polished version of the demo, and leave all the big improvements or ideas for next years title.

With Elite turning into playoff DLC they could allow the whole team to work on it for a while. Then after a certain point allow a smaller team to put all the finishing touches.

Jus give me a practice mode, exhibition mode w/ the playoff teams, and a playoff mode and I'll be good. I'll gladly go out to buy that, and I'm sure a lot of guys would be cool with that too.

I'd rather the devs do this so more work can be put into Elite 12 then on fixing this one..

        Re: Elite 11 as DLC?

How can people expect EA to continue on with spending time getting Elite 11 out aaannnndddd get Elite 12 in order at the same time???

Best move for EA is to formally announce that Elite 11 will NOT be released in any form, and instead, has decided to devote 100 and 10 percent of it's focus on Live/Elite 12. Period. End of discussion.

EA is not going to recoup enough money in a possible 2012 release of this game to break even on that 60 million dollar raping the "delay" has supposedly cost them.

NBA Elite 11 should be left to R.I.P. while the company moves forward to the 2012 edition. If the game was anywhere near ready for our consoles, they would have went forward with the release and just patched the hell out of it like all of their other sports games this year.

          It would work IF
          1) EA was committed to sticking with the Elite concept and
          2) they have improved it enough to believe the community will buy into it

Think about it, if they improve it enough, DLC could whet the appetite for Elite 12.

Exactly. Or they could sell Elite 11 for $20 (which I don't think EA is willing to do) and then sell Elite 12 for $40 since both games might be released in the same year and nobody wants to pay $120; and also the development time is shortened.

I think its a great idea, but the gameplay will have had to have made some very big strides...kinda annoying they haven't at least told us what their plan is
