NBA Live 10 Question

Hey Guys,

Now first off I am not trying to start an arguement or anything. I just have some questions regarding Live 10.

I just recently bought the game used for aroun 20 bucks or so. I am a long time 2k player, but I went with Live just now for something different.

My question is this, is there anything about this game that I should look out for? Is there anything wrong with it that "breaks" the game? I know that I have to pay for the code to access the rosters and what not, is this worth it as it is for last season?

Those of you that do play it what is dynasty like when you get into it? So far I like what I am seeing, but is there anything I need to worry about?

You should wait to by the online dna. They haven't gotten into specifics yet, but they said something about dynamic dna being free for this upcoming season. Does that mean free for everyone or just those that had the online already? Not sure yet.

The sucking animations and the AI's plays ruined the game for me. As far as online goes, its the ridiculous shooting ratings

This is the best game you will ever play online 5 on 5, period. Unfortunately, that's about the only place it shines. Good thing that's all that matters.

The game breaking issues are:

There is a force field around a player when they approach the corner, so if they run to the corner they can almost always get a shot off (unless you have a huge head start.) And people can shoot from the absolute corner, to the point where it's behind the backboard almost. Not many people do this, but it is possible.

Height is still a huge factor. It's not a game breaking issue unless the people you are playing with are abusing it. Guys like Tim Thomas or Michael Finley are monsters because of their height and shooting ability. They come in wetting 3s and dunking on people. And people love to run Shaq and Big Z lineups or Thabeet and Gasol lineups to get every rebound.

The big man can still dribble pretty well under the rim if you know how to do it. The game is designed to make you lose the ball, but if you are smart you can still do more and 'glitch' the game into allowing you to make a basket that the game wouldn't let you make. However, if you are smart about defense and stay down and are in the right position you will also still make people miss.

The suction animations around the basket are pretty lame, but you have to use them to your advantage. It makes defense realistic. If you want to get your points going to the rim, you can't just rise up on someone by pressing towards them and square. You have to get into their side opposed to their front and draw the foul. Or you can make use of the overpowered eurostep/hop step animations which are their own form of glitch. People have mastered going baseline and doing a hopstep under the basket. These animations often draw fouls and will sometimes score, but if you are in the right position, I know they are not as effective.

Basically, in terms of balace (forgetting about all of the people who put in two 7 footers and run to the corners and shoot 3s), Live 10 is the best game for competitive 5 on 5 online play.

There is alot good about this game, but there is just as much (if not more) wrong with it.

Dynasty is very bad in my opinion. CPU trades are crazy. Sim stats are horrible and there is nothing you can do to fix them. You have to play an 82 game season, this might not be a huge deal for you, but it is for me. I don't have time for 82 games and I can't stand to sim games.

I would play without the patch and turn goaltending off. The patch slows down alley-oops and that drove me crazy.

It is a great game to play "play now" type games (and maybe for online, but I never play online) but the dynasty isn't any good at all.

Tomba Sports had some pretty good roster re-rates so you might google Tomba Sports and see what you come up with.
