Too much offense not enough defense
All the videos I've been seeing of Live are nothing but offensive scoring. Where's the defense that EA has been preaching about. The last thing they should be showing is dunks, fastbreaks and unguarded players in these videos. I've been seriously following Live cuz 10 man freestyle sounded like a break through in the offensive movement and defensive play but, in all these videos of gameplay there's hardly any of this going on. Doesn't look like 10 players reacting accordingly to 1 another like 10 man freestyle makes it seem like there supposed to be doing. All I'm seeing is a little bit of court movement and bad defense. I don't know but it looks to me like just some new animations of a couple of moves and guys waving for the ball when they aren't even open. Looks tricky to me and with all the offense going on in the videos still looks like an arcade game. That offball play video is just the user running around without the ball and from the looks of how you do it, it doesn't seem easy to do or rational either when you got 24 secs shot clock and you have to run all over to get open. When the user in the video did it he had to come back out to the ball carrier to get the pass and I would worry about that and how effective it really is. Anyways just some obsevations from collecting vids and info about Live cuz I've been interested in the whole 10 man freestyle thing, but it doesn't look anything like it sounds to me.Tags: None -

Alright, smarty pants, youre in the hotseat now. How would you market this game? How are you going to advertise this game to get those key sales from casual basketball fans who dont know much about basketball other than what they see from headlines, Sportscenter, and an occasional playoff game (which I might add are greater in number than the hardcore fans)?
Just a side note:

I understand you point but your not understanding mine. ALL the videos are showing poor defense that plagued Live 2003 whether they are showcasing the highlights or not. I'm seeing the same plethora of dunks, unstoppable post game offense, major fastbreaks that remind me of 2003. How can you not be a little worried when your seeing the very things that made 2003 an arcade misrepresentation of basketball lacking at the defensive end. Pretty animations aside cuz 2003's animations were good but they didn't make 2003 a simulation. Just worried cuz it still looks like you can abuse the defense.

Re: Too much offense not enough defense
When the game comes out i'm willing to bet many ppl will complain about it being too hard to score on certain levels. Key thing is, when the game comes out. Scoring is what is done in promotional videos, simple as that, and furthermore there will be a defensive tutorial video to come along with the offensive ones already out. So check those out when they come about. Plus ..."sliders" will help. Steve will probably have a copy of the game next week so look for some impressions from him. I have a feeling many of you will be pleasantly surprised and not necessarily from a graphics standpoint.Comment

Those videos are highlighting the offensive controls, so they are showing what you can do on offense. When the defensive tutorials come out, then you'll see some D. But the focus of those videos is offense.Fun Fact: Every Tom Izzo recruiting class has played in a Final Four.Comment

Re: Too much offense not enough defense
Even without the defensive videos being released yet, I saw the Kandi Man get rejected by Raef, I saw Cassell dive and get a steal off of a tipped pass, I saw Tony Battie get rejected down low, I saw Vince come down the lane and get fouled hard by Lebron. Not enough defense?"If y’all see me in the news, and I make the news for something that I ain’t got no business making it for, don’t bash me. Say it was a young guy living."
