What went wrong with Live?

This is a question ive been pondering since the ps2 hit the scene since i think thats were it fell off the table. How is it Madden , NHl , and even Fifa have managed to keep chuggin along with a few minor probs here and there but live has just fallen apart. From all accounts this years version sounds great, but we are so hungry for a basket ball game of quality i think we will accept a little less than we would for a madden or a nhl. No doudbt the bar has been lowered on our expectations from the live series. As King Theoden said before the battle of Helm' Deep how did it come to this (huge LOTR fan)? I mean espn (formely nba2k) has nearly if not completely caught or passed live. Sure you can argue football is in the same state and hockey this year. But think back to the last lives on the next gen platforms. Have they not been hard to play and lost your intrest in say a month or 2? I just dont understand how a game that is loved by so many and so popular just fall from the throne so swiftly. Think of the pedigree and head start it had on other b-ball games. Lakers vs Celtics, the basket ball game that revolutionzed b-ball video gaming. How do you start with such a lead and forget what made you great? The lack of defense, The inability to have realistic game stats, problem with lack of overall game depth, The horrible sim engine that leaves bench players as non-factors. The list goes on and on. I have a friend bless his soul who every year gets excited about this time of year his hope and faith renewed from the previews, the vids,oh the commercials, ahh the new features... Only to find out there is no multiplayer franchise, or you cant adjust your shot on a jumper just a layup or dunk. Madden has stayed innovative, and fun through out their run. I hope and pray this years marks the rebirth of a great franchise but for some reason i still look at my friend with all his hope and glee and part of me says you nincomput its LIVE!!!!!! What do you guys think? Or am i off base?

Why should it be locked? I love live im just asking and giving my opinons, before something can be fixed it must be determined how it got to such a state. I loved the live series otherwise id never have taken the time to even write this. So unless i have glowing commentary on the game i should shut up is that what your implying? That sounds like dictatorship to me..

I think you should be tarred and feathered for having McNabb and Carter in the same picture. Unless you mean to show two sides of a coin, good and bad.

Very thought provocing but If i am correct they let ea canada do the new lives on ps2 compared to the previous production team..Hey what do canadians know bout basketball
