I've heard of people cite "skating" as a problem with the NBA Live series. Well I haven't played any Live games since way back in the SNES days so I don't really know what this is. For a few years I was outta gaming, and then I got NBA 2K and the rest of that series to this point. I am going to get Live this year because it seems like it will be more realistic and the franchise seems deeper, however, this problem could interfere with my perception of the game. So, in closing, what is "skating" and is it a problem in this newest Live?

I saw it first in Live 96 on Genesis/Megadrive but in all the Snes versions. I read a while ago in a review that said Live was using the NHL engine... I don't know if it was a joke or not.
I thought Live 2003 (Xbox) was ok but 2004 they do seem to slide a bit. When starting backing in/post up animations the first movement (judging from a few videos) slides back without steps, they also seem to slide when changing direction to look at the passer before catching the ball. Some people don't agree, some people don't care. -
