Well, I am glad I am not the only one who disagrees with what GamePro does in their reviews (or lack thereof). Either way, I will be playing with LIVE today at about 6:30!!! I can't wait.

Re: WTF... GamePro Reviews???
Yeah - as I posted that this morning, I was scratching my head. Not only is the review by the same person ... it's the dame exact review.
I understand the extra love for the PS2, due to online play. I think the extra love for the GC version comes from this quote: "Still, GameCube owners don’t have any other hoop sim choices this year, so it’s the definitely the top game for them at least".5WG | Facebook | Twitter | fiftytwoplays

LOL, yeah fossen, maybe it was done out of sympathy for the Cube lovers. They have to make them feel special I guess.

Well ... I just think that they realized that Live is the best sim hoops title for the GameCube, and gave it an extra half point.5WG | Facebook | Twitter | fiftytwoplays

Re: WTF... GamePro Reviews???
The toughest control-related item is the two separate shot buttons—one for jumpers and one for lay-ups/dunks. There’s no good reason for this, and it can mess up your game at the most heated moment in a match no matter how accustomed to it you become.
I don't understand that quote by GamePro. Wasn't it reviewers like GamePro that complained about shooting jump shots when under the rim?
Apparently, GamePro doesn't remember how great NBA Showdown was (it had the seperate jumpshot/dunk buttons) and doesn't understand how much of a benefit it is for a user to have this much control over a players shot selection.
But, then again, it's GamePro."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob NeyerComment

Re: WTF... GamePro Reviews???
Think about itPlaystation 2 gets higher because you can play online, which adds extra fun, Gamecube gets higer because it's the only basketball game they got, so to the gamecube crowd, playing the game is more fun than let's say, not playing the game. Xbox has the ability to go online and doesn't and it also has to be compared to other bball games that will come to the system.
just saw fossen posted the same thingComment
