I bought both..Took back the ps2 version...the framerate was good on the ps2. But I have definitely seen it be an issue with the xbox version...However the upgrade in graphics is slight. but the load times are key for me...plus i'm soooo used to controller s that now my ps2 controller feels really weird.

It has nothing to do with being rude or not "klnowing" anything about Xboxes. The fact is, its just as much of an issue in the Xbox version as the Ps2 version and you are trying to make it sound as if it isnt. If you actually read through the "slowdown" thread, you would know that.

You should probably take your own advice and be a little less rude in assuming that I dont "klnow" what Im talking about.

I did read through that and if you knew anything you'd know two of the three DVD drives have problems reading games. I would list the website but don't feel like getting banned (it's a XBOX mod site). So don't act all high and mighty. I was just trying to help out. Like I said I have NO slowdown, I know I'm lucky but I was just trying to help the kid out, cause I know that if it were me and I had alot of slowdown the game for me wouldn't be worth buying. SO if you don't have anything constructive to say don't reply.

Depends on what model XBOX and what shape disc drive tray you have.

All launch XBOX consoles have Thompson drives, which are easily identified by the shape of the hole in the disc tray, sort of like a "U" shape. These consoles were made in Hungary, Europe.

More recent XBOX consoles (mostly made in China) will have one of the following drives:

1. A slightly improved version fo the Thompson drive (U shape)
2. Philips drive (U shape with a circular shape cut out in the centre of the tray)
3. Samsung drive which also happens to be able to read burnt music CDs, so you can rip tracks to your HD

(U shape with a few small circular shapes cut out around the centre of the tray)

If you have an Xbox with a Samsung drive, then consider yourself lucky as this the best and most reliable drive followed by the Philips. Unfortunately mine has the Thompson!
