You know what we could do...

Each of us could take a team or two and and edit the players' ratings then post our results here. That would make that process alot faster.

Or was this suggested already and I should just go back to lurking?

Either way, I think it's a solid idea. The one thing is you can't do your favorite team, otherwise Michael Redd would end up with a 95 from me.

Did I give you impression that I'm not playing the game?

You're right, though. I shouldn't be posting here. From now on I'll just read the posters I've come to respect.

                but why edit ratings?

I think they are fine and realistic.

Better than having 10 GREAT, UNBELIEVABLE, UNSTOPPABLE players in Madden every year rated 99.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

"You'll not find more penny-wise/pound-foolish behavior than in Major League Baseball." - Rob Neyer

Re: You know what we could do...

I made the suggestion because I've read a couple of post where people complain about individual things, specifically offensive rebounding.

If tweaking a player's rating here and there will make the game better (or more realistic as some say) then why not do that? For instance, there's no way that Michael Redd is a better defender than Dez Mason, but Live 04 says he is. A little tweaking could fix that.

Not trying to cause a stir. The game is fun as it is, and either way I'll enjoy it.

oh ok, i was curious as to why you wanted to change ratings

i guess if there's enough people that are stressed about the ratings then this would make sense.
