Actually, I've noticed that if you play with REAL player lock (as in setting it this way when you pause the game) your teammates run their real offense and shoot, pass, drive, etc. regardless of what you 'tell' them to do.

But, when you do the temporary player lock with the right stick click, they will just hold the ball and do nothing unless you tell them to. There's got to be a reason for that, or maybe it's just a glitch....

No, I was talking about the 'actual' player lock in the Select Controller settings. They didn't shoot the ball AT ALL, causing me three straight possessions due to shot clock violations. Now you may be doing something completely different, but when I tried, my teammates would not shoot the rock.
