I have a 40 pt swing from Rookie to Starter,What now?

Okay, I love this game. It fantastic, however, with 6 minute quarters as the Pistons, I seem to win by about 20 pts on Rookie, and lose by about 20 on Starter. I've went into the slider post, and changed my slider settings to be close to some of those posted, which greatly improves gameplay, but most of them are for All-Star or whatever, I guess I'm not that good. Any ideas?

Pistons are not a scoring team too.

it sounds like you really are not good at all. keep practicing, you should be able to play on allstar at least.

You have to go and spend some quality time in Practice Mode. Learn how to use freestyle without having to think about it. Learn how to time the release of your shots.

Also, when you're in gameplay use the D-Pad plays. They really do work. I suggest learning the pick and roll first. It's fundamental basketball and is an easy way to free up a good shooter for a semi-open 3, or to pass to a big man rolling to the basket.

Also, if you aren't already, use the prohop. It is a great way to get close to the basket. Don't always try to dunk off of it (though you can quite successfully on Starter) but use the shoot button with anyone other than a short guard. IE Give it to your SF or an athletic PF and prohop close to the basket and shoot. If he has a good inside scoring rating you will be able to score quite consistently.

Finally, on defense use a zone (the default one is fine for starters). You can switch to it with the D-Pad, same as calling a play on offense. The zone is really good if you are one of those people who like to chase the ball carrier around, because I've noticed that your teammates fill in the holes very nicely, so you can run around like a chicken with your head cut off and your teammates won't leave anyone open.

                      Good Luck!
