Well...after playing Live extensively for the past week and a half, I can give my straight up no bull honest opinion.
EA has stepped it up a notch in the gameplay department. They have done exactly what Inside Drive has done for the past two years. They have concentrated on gameplay. This is a welcomed change since they have added more similation aspects while keeping the option to play a more arcade style for those who enjoy that type of play. I listed a few pros and cons I felt was appropriate for what I have experienced to this point.
Pros:
solid gameplay, great off the ball movement, battle in the post is hot, defense is the most intense I have seen in a long time, banging soundtrack, the pro hop is lovely, franchise is good as usual, the teams play like their real life counterparts, fully customizable sliders and most of all the game is fun as heck to play.
Cons:
Players get back on defense waaaay too slow, guard ball stance is annoying as heck at times, playmaker control is unpredictable and quirky, players crashing the offensive boards is non existent for the most part, the stagger after you shoot (under the basket) animation is unheard of, the cpu scoring three points with their feet on the line need to be corrected, having to change your team settings (offensive/defensive sets) every game is tiring, no player intros during franchise is missing and there is no option to practice five on five.
Aside from all of the things I have noticed wrong with the game, to me the overall gameplay makes this game worth keeping. It's fun and fully customizable to the point that you can tweak the gameplay to your liking. Things that can't be corrected with sliders will have to be done the next time around.
I guess I'll have two titles this year when ESPN hit the shelves tomorrow.
