I don't know how an article from someone on Gamespot, stating what they think EA should go for in their next NBA game qualifies as "hype machine"...but okay.

i kinda of liked the arcadey feel of nba live. I wonder if they will try to change the game to be realistic like nba2k12, if they do i probably wont buy it unless the reviews are good.

im for one is excited for this. I've been buying 2k's games for the pas 4 years. And is now tired by them. All of the problems with their games 2k just keeps making excuses for them and keeps happening every game they release. Superstars never feel like superstars in the 2k games for some reason. I never feel like i have control of the player.

you do know the only difference between a star and a bench warmer is the stars shots go in more than normal. In 2k12 stars are layup machines and fly through the lane with almost no contact

it's actually that way in both games IMO...

Live/Elite never really captured the tendencies of the star players....i found myself editing those guys more than anything.

I don't understand all the comments asking EA to stop making NBA games. If anything, we need more companies to make NBA games, like in the old days, instead of a 2K monopoly. Sadly, with the elevated costs associated with this gaming era, I don't think we're ever going to have numerous NBA games to choose from again, and as much as I love 2K basketball, I'd also really appreciate it if EA kept trying to produce something good.

Most people are not smart when they make silly statements like that and don't back up why ...Its a shame..

I dunno about that. In Live 10 I played exclusively with the Warriors, and that's when the team was absolute "garbage" according to most (mostly because of injuries), however on any given night they could drop 120 and run you out of the gym. That's when the starting line-up was something like

C Chris Hunter (not even in the NBA anymore?)
                      PF Anthony Tolliver
                      SF Corey Maggette
                      SG Monta Ellis
                      PG Stephen Curry

With Anthony Morrow, Reggie Williams, and Devean George off the bench.

I used to go nuts with this team. I would bring in Devean and play him at the center position and run my offense through him. I would do crazy things like play Maggette at the 4 and run with 3 guard lineups, in true Nellyball fashion. We would regularly drop 120 with those guys (while also giving up 115). Guys like Reggie Williams would go for 30 because of how we played (and playing to the DNA to a tee. Williams was hot going to his left and pulling up, I would recreate this in the game). Maggette was unstoppable in isolation. Monta and Curry would run and gun all game. It was amazing, and very much exactly how that Warriors team played on a nightly basis. It was the best recreation of that style of basketball I've ever seen in a video game, ever.

Now of course we lost a lot of games, and a lot of games we didn't drop 120 or look good doing it. But most of these games were epic match-ups against my sim friends. We would spend 15 minutes scouting each other's DNA before the game, and then go to work. We had some truly classic battles man. Live 10 was on another level at times.

Live 10 was a damn good game. I really hope EA comes back strong with their next Elite title. I am ready for a new franchise.
