    Best Control [Live 10]?

    wow
popped this back in [first time in a close to two years] after playing a bunch of other hoops games, trying to get my fix, and is this control something else or what?

The feeling it gives me of being in control of my player is unparalleled.
The jump from 09 to 10 was even huge. But pop in 07 and your really in for a treat.

In any event, just had to say this.

    It feels good.

I miss the control in Live 10 a lot. I finally picked up NBA 2K12 and I have the hardest time staying in front of my man and moving around with the ball. I had the same issues with last years game as well. It's probably just something that I'm doing wrong, but Live 10 felt so fluid from what I remember of the game.

      I miss this game.

The thing I have always loved about NBA Live, is that my player rarely did something that I did not want him to do.

I really did like NBA Live 10s controls, but it was hard to really appreciate them with the way defensive suction was....made it impossible to take angles against a defender....

so yeah, I could do what I wanted when I wanted, but I was doing it against a wall pretty much.

Hopefully they can tune this next year.

That was somewhat curbed by editing the on ball defense and the recovery defense

On ball defense - greatly exxagerrated ratings

What this did was make the defender stick to the ball handler like glue to the point where you had to do a series of crossover moves to get by him most of the time, which leads to..........

Defensive Recovery- greatly rated at a high clip for even non defenders

This rating is what made the CPU catch back up to you if you blew by him, he'd warp or run right back in front of you before you jumped to dunk or layup even if you beat him off the dribble or on a pump fake.

Lowered those ratings and it helped a great deal, not totally but it make the game feel much more free, but unfortunately it didnt and we couldnt eliminate the chest bumping completely in the paint... its an animation we all overlooked before the patch and something that should've been taken out.

That said, the control was great for what it was, really nice and clean too

...too bad the game only lasted a year. It was something special in the works

            Yep agree.
I assume Mike Wang had a hand in them so i am surprised that they have not made their way over to the 2k series yet.....

EA just need to build off Elite and just add some stuff from past Live games.

                  Re: Best Control [Live 10]?

If I am being totally honest, I have been a 2k basketball fan for over a decade now...HOWEVER, Live 10 was one of THE best basketball games I played.

From the movement of the players, to the dribble stick, to the off ball controls, to the passing....Live 10 was great. It blew my mind that NBA Elite just didnt take Live 10 and improve on it.

I play basketball games online and in leagues mostly and To be frank, if Live 10 had the online association and controls that Madden has, I would NOT...I repeat, I would NOT have bought a 2k game and would still be playing Live 10 now.

The online association was horrible and if I remember right, Live didnt have put back dunks, but those were my two biggest gripes with the game!
