Looking Back At Live 10: What It Did Right/Wrong

Looking back on the competition the last two years as well as Elite [what we knew of it from the demo] what do you guys think Live 10 has going for it and against it.

In my limited return play time, the stand out positives are:

    Controls- From ice to nice.

    Sound

    Dynasty Stats

    Negatives:

AI does not call time outs at the right times

    ball physics a bit wonky.

teams sometimes run down and jack up shots without running plays.

also i love the screen swipes using alternate logos.

I got NBA Live 10 as my first game in which I really played a lot of my time for. It was mainly spent getting the rosters updated since I did not have Xbox Live at the time but it allowed me to grow in my knowledge of basketball today. It was also the catalyst for my new-found and continuing love of basketball. I loved nearly everything about the game except for the things you mentioned. Also, I wished the whole graphics were brighter like 2K11 or 2K12. It seemed to be faded and not in full, bright, color, like it is today.

Live 10 did a lot right. Player and team DNA for one. It was great playing with up-to-the-minute ratings for players and teams. Did Kobe just go off for 40 points for the 4th time in a row? Well he would be ready to drop 40 in your game too. I loved that and hope they bring it back for the next game.

Overall though, I'd say Live 10 was the best bball game I've personally ever played. I had some incredible games online against my sim friends with that game. Just incredibly strategic games against other people. Live 10 played a great brand of basketball. I hope they build on that game for the next title.

live 10 was good to me but not better than 2k. ALl they need to do is get some REAL motion capture technology and work on all animations. Graphics need some tunning also. Ball/Net physics look like PS2 animations. need to copy 2k on that one .

my biggest problem with EA bball has been the dribbling animations, Everyone dribbles superspeed and with nba street like moves. The motions between dribbling and moving make the game look very robotic like NBA ELITE

thug, I'd rather have the game look the way it does and have total control over my movement, instead of 2k's style where they make the game pretty as can be but you get less control. EA's title can challenge 2k's if they give you total control and cut down on the amount of animations you can get caught in. If they just copy 2k's style I'd be very, very disappointed.

And I think the net physics of 2k looks horrible. I would hope EA doesn't copy 2k in that aspect either.

sorry man but a game where you have total control to make hookshots from 3pt line and do fancy dribbling with ben wallace isnt worth a try . EA has to go the simulation route because they are playing catchup whether you like it or not. Everyone wants total control and we all had a tasted of that in Elite demo. I sucked even EA saw that. without motion capture animations for shooting and ball movement every player will look the same on the court. Its the little things that count and the little things EA has failed at the last couple years.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ATK410Gw-30 what EA compared their game to and canceled
