    Realism

Hey all, I just wanted to post some random dorky thoughts as I am want to do. I watched a lot of bball last night and I played some Live afterwords and I have to say that this game is pretty realistic.
Since I had been playing the game so much before actually watching any games this year I had forgotten how many open jumpers, inside shots teams miss and so many points in the NBA come off of second and sometimes third chance opportunities. It got me thinking about Live because one of the things I've been frustrated about is the lack of consistent shooting. My players (especially Cassell) have a hard time hitting shots when they are open and inside the 3pt. line. While I realize that some of this is due to when I release, how open I am, etc. But at the same time this is very realistic. Sam Cassel scored 18 points in the Wolves opener last night, but he did it on like 6-18 shooting. That's about the same production I get out of him on live!! I guess what the point of all this is...
Live came out last year and revolutionized video game basketball with the fastbreaking ability and the freestyle. But it was too arcadey. This year they've come out with probably the most realistic bball game in video game history. I know that's a pretty sweeping statement and I'll admit I'm totally biased. But from being an NBA fanatic, I just feel that this year's live captures more of the essence and gameplay of NBA basketball than any Live before it. I agree that they didn't pay attention to some of the details (the faces aren't perfect, Kidd doesn't blow the kiss when shooting free throws, the franchise mode still has some major improvements to make). But overall I've always felt that EA captured human movement the best and I think that that combined with the new, very realistic shooting/rebounding/defense, this game is an incredible representation of NBA basketball. Now if March Maddness comes out and is NBA Live with college jersey's on. I'll be pissed. But for the NBA, Live really nailed it on the head this year IMO.
    Peace.
