I play All Star Level with adjusted sliders (pared's) I have cpu assistance off.

Every single game I probably miss 15 layups, I mean easy, uncontested layups. I don't see this happening to the cpu, so it must be something I'm doing.
<----how i feel, I'm the Kings and I'm 5-7 right now, but I should be 11-1 if I would just make the stupid layups.

You have to take them unchallenged, or fake your defensder and then lay up.

I am finding the CPU missing a tonne also...if i turbo my last man back and challenge the shot, they miss about 1 in 2 if they lay up.

If the dunk...forget about it.

Funny how it depends on the team...I got killed by the Cavs, who were throwing down HARD every fast break...

But I could stay close to the Pistons who seemed to lay it up a lot, and I was forcing them to miss by turboing back to challenge the lay ups.

Are you releasing the layup button at the peak of your jump, similar to a jumpshot? It took me a little while to figure out that you can't just press the layup button and have it go right into a layup animation.

Thanks, I think I'll give this a try. If not I may have to adjust the dunk/layup slider, i'm just tired of losing games where I clearly outplayed the other team.

I have felt that this was true this year also.

i have finished many more lay-ups by executing the shot as a jumper.

I was wondering if anyone else had noticed it or if I was imagining it.

nope. your right man. Releasing your lay-ups as you do your jumpshots helps tremendously. I rarely miss lay-ups, and when i do, its because of traffic or a bad release. I might miss one or two a game that seem like gimmes. Seems about right
