If you notice that teams roster is pretty generic,I think this is due to the fact that they have not even been stocked with any know players yet.
They only appear on paper,they'll be drafting next year,in the meantime you get a blank team with slots you can sign free agents or create players on and I'm not even sure you can do that,I mean created players for that team? I would think that you could,you'll have to check the manual on that one to be sure but I would think EA SPORTS gives you that option but only for exhibition play.
Just a quick note: you can create players and also sign free agents but only for exhibition use
