Need help deciding....

I have Live, but I have not opened it yet. I wanted to read what other people thought before I started to play. I know the franchise in NBA Live is screwed up, but supposedly the gameplay is a lot better than ESPN.

How is the gameplay in ESPN? Realistic or no.

How is the franchise? Realistic free agency and contract offers?

Overall if you have played both, why do you like one more than the other?

DUDE, just read, there must be 10,000 freaking articles on here, do your research! Hate to sound so tough, but come on, buy "your" game, do your own research after all it's your $!

I would hate for your Gaming experience to be messed up because you didn't read or see something that confirmed or denied your exspections of the game.

Okay here it is.... I first rented NBA Live 2004 and was really impressed, but I kept saying to myself ESPN is going to be better. So I purchased ESPN Basketball and returned NBA Live to BlockBuster. I was SO DISAPPOINTED in ESPN Basketball. Yes, they have great graphics, but the game play was very "robotic" and just didn't "feel" right. So, I took it back and exchanged it for NBA Live 2004. I'm very happy with NBA Live this year. They really stepped up to the plate!! KEEP LIVE!

I have played both 2004 games, and I feel that Live is the better game. Slider tweaking is necessary though. Atmosphere, gameplay, and control is better. I felt that the graphics were a little better in ESPN based on the players' faces. Neither game stands out however. But if you HAD to pick one for this year, I would go with Live.
