    New Freethrow System Needed

I know that by increasing the Freethrow difficulty slider it makes freethrows harder and that is what I do. But, if you have good hand-eye coordination you can still hit all your freethrows or atleast 85% of them with any player regardless of attributes.

What we now need, in addition to the increased speed of the crosshairs for the poor shooters that we already have, is a sensativity to it.

What I mean is say you are shooting freethrows with shaq. The crosshairs move fast but their is a little area where you don't have to align them perfectly to make the freethrow. We need it to be where the poorer the freethrow shooter the closer to dead center you have to align the crosshairs. In my opinion it is not currently that way yet.

    Any thoughts?

    Re: New Freethrow System Needed

I agree, they need a better free throw shooting routine. Out of the box I adjusted the free throw slider to 100 and I still shoot 86% after 20 franchise games.

Its always been a tad bit to easy no matter what the speed is. And one thing I've noticed throughout my season is I'll never miss a free throw down the stretch. If I need the points its almost gauranteed I'll sink the free throws late in the game.

I liked 2Ks challenging freethow system although it takes a little bit to much time. I do think EA needs to revamp the way we shoot freethrows and make it more challeging to veterans of the game. Its been the same way since the first EA basketball game.

One idea I think EA should steal is the way Double Dribble shot free throws. Double Dribble's free throw ring was the most challenging thing to time ever in sports video games. Ethier that or give the user the option to let the players rating to determine if the shot will be succesful or not. You know, like the cpu and user shot controls. Make that option availible on free throws I'd certainly have the cpu shoot them for me just to keep the realism there.

                      Re: New Freethrow System Needed

Free throws are plenty hard if you are playing on Superstar and you have the FT Difficulty cranked up. When you have a poor free throw shooter at the line, the box that you have to get the crosshairs in is less than half as big as it is with a good free throw shooter.

Crank the Free throw difficulty up to 100 on Superstar and let me know how you shoot with someone like Shaq, or Nachbar(Rockets) for that matter. Comeback and tell me what you are shooting.
In previous versions of live, I was hitting like 100% with everyone on a given team. This year I have a few players hovering around 50%.
