I think the passing could work.... If they mad it where timing is key, that would keep the skill part of it.

Let's say if a player is cutting baseline you would have to throw the pass just right. Not too early or late for the lob.

All the off ball stuff I think is just wait and see....

What would determine if you threw the alley or not? I can see some dumb attempts happening -- I won't be willing to throw it if a defender is in the lane to just anybody.

I'm not liking the no icon passing....What about cross court passes? WHat about on defense when you want to switch to a certain person.. You need icons!

If they're having the AI make decisions on passing and running plays that will cost them my money...idgaf how great gameplay is or graphics...that will just take away the user experience

They'll obviously give you the option to control that stuff yourself.

FYI: We're just commenting on someone else's comment, not the article when we are referring to auto passing. I personally didn't read the entire article when I realized it was nothing more than a 'regular blog post' rather than an info blog.

If this is something like, I'm running a 2 on 1, I press the pass, and it knows to throw an alley-oop, or it knows to throw a bounce pass to a player cutting to the basket, that could be cool. In 2K, if I want to do that, without using the icons, the pass is usually stolen.

I think that it will be great for AI to determine some things that would be common sense. Whether it be an Alley-oop or using better judgement on the type of shot that needs to be taken in a situation and which hand to use. I think player's should still have supreme control, but if I throw a pass with CP3 to Blake Griffin and he has the ability and space to catch an Alley-oop it should happen and look and feel natural. If I grab a rebound right under the rim with somebody like Stoudemire or Taj Gibson, they are not going to put up some weak weird looking lay-up. They are going to tear the rim down with authority. This needs to be in NBA Live as well as 2K. Too many times players take a shot that is unintelligent and ill advised for the situation.

Wonder why it is taking so long to show a video for a game that has been in developement for over 2 years?

Maybe with the backlash they received with Elite footbage EA is very shooked to show video again

Just from Live's recent history, in no way, shape, or form can they teach me anything about being a better baller. Basketball is instinctive and though people make the game more complex, basketball is very simple. These guys make it seem like they're recreating something new when all the need to really focus on is the gameplay, period. 2K is going to continue to do what they do and though their game is far from perfect, it's given the best basketball experience for a while now (Dreamcast for me). I really hope Live comes out with a banger, because after several off years, there's no excuse. Forget all the talking and show me how it plays. Forget screen shots, show me how it plays. Forget renaming old and existing feautures, show me how it plays.

5 on 5 live gameplay is the key, we can make a better judgment after that, because all we can think of is elite 11 and we need to take that vision away lol.
