Where do we go from here? NBA Live History!!!

I posted this in another thread and deleted it, because I wanted to illustrate a little more on the series.

Below I will post facts and video footage of where this series has began and ended this generation so far! And ask gamers where should we be at this point?

What did you see from these videos that they did right and wrong?

    History this generation Live series!!!

    Live 06
+ Graphically Impressive and Superior to Competitions Game
+ Nice Options in Menus and decent roster edits.
    - Hunchback player models and weird run animations
    - Camera Angles were hideous almost made it unplayable
    - Even with sliders, poor animations made this a train wreck

    <object width="640" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/r0SkmlfvkcQ?version=3&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/r0SkmlfvkcQ?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

    Live 07

    + Graphics even more impressive
+ Player models faces were uncanny and highly impressive
+ Added a nice crossover system
    + Great Presentation
+ More options on editing and decent online
    - Again animations made game almost unplayable and unrealistic
    - Terrible physics of body movements
    - Poor A.I. with cheating system to win games
    - Lack of camera options, but decent overall

    <object width="640" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/RcN8GC1NI4k?version=3&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/RcN8GC1NI4k?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

    Live 08

    + Played a little better
+ Decent Create a Player option
    - Everything else was poo, Playmakers sliders and rosters couldn't save it!

Sorry no video - Removed from Youtube

    Live 09

+ Graphics improved and better textures
+ Controls got better and much nicer movements
+ Create a Player and edits to rosters were great
+ Custom Playbooks were great and easy to access
    - On the court it wasn't basketball
    - Playcalling system was hideous and almost impossible to get to
    - Same dry *** commentary from the previous game, rinse and repeat

    <object width="640" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/EqFjmA0vvV4?version=3&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/EqFjmA0vvV4?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

    Live 10

    + Presentation greatly improvemented
    + Player editing was great
    + Playbooks even more amazing
+ Graphics a big step up in the franchise
+ Dynamic DNA is an amazing feature
+ Dynasty Mode was great and never got boring
+ Controls overall from crossovers, signature shots, passing and more were great. (IMO: Had to get use to clicking analog stick for post ups)
+ Online was amazing and smoother than a baby's bottom!
    - Animations were still lacking, making awkward contact during plays
    - Bad ref calling during contacts and following turnovers
    - Needed more player slots on rosters

    <object width="640" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/AScV3Og1ies?version=3&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/AScV3Og1ies?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

NBA Elite 11 - From a Demo Perspective

    + It was never released
    - Everything Live 10 wasn't and a 3 year step backwards in productivity!

    <object width="640" height="360"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/nQfyIIK6hug?version=3&amp;hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/nQfyIIK6hug?version=3&amp;hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="640" height="360" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Very nice trip down memory lane.

If Live 06/07 were decent animating, they're still my favorite "looking" game in still shots. The body proportions and colors/hues were excellent. If they updated the player faces/headshapes, and worked out the animations, combined the gameplay with Live 10... would be a very nice start on a Live 13.

Live '05 was the best, followed by '95 and '04.
All you gotta do is look up in dat tree.

Animations and CPU AI behavior was the biggest problem with NBA Live since the game moved to XBOX 360

Graphics, Arena Sound and Controlls were all top notch.

If EA spent more time on actual gameplay and smoothing out the animations the series wouldn't have crashed and burned.

It was pretty bad that after 5-6 years the CPU couldn't execute a simple alley oop or back door play. The animations were so goofy and robotic it just made the graphics go to waiste IMO.

Guys running around as if something was stuck up their booty hurt my eyes after awhile.

Also there was no feeling of weight or monentum in the game as you always saw a guy like Shaq represented the wrong way. He never played with any form of a power game inside.

You could see some progress being made in Live 09 and 10 but for some reason the game just moved light years behind it's top competitor on the floor.

Thanks Czar, from you that means a lot my friend..

Yeah NBA Live 06 from the beginning set the level of graphics and 07 took it too new heights with incredible lighting and player model likenesses...

But as usual EA Sports overlooks the primary flaw of the game and makes sequels with more gimmicks....without really solving the real issue, which is so simple a 4 year can understand.

            Animations - Fix them!!!!!

Lack of Animations has always been the down falls, from weird running motions, to jerky movements during dribbles, jumpshots, rebounds, blocking, etc. Animations have been the biggest ploy in this game, that has plagued it from the beginning.

Having controls, etc, were never really big issues. The game has always controlled fine....They just look like crap while moving and it wasn't basketball...

I don't really see how they continue to overlook that...And why did they stray away from the graphics of Live 07, they could have built from that...I mean from players emotions and movements, eyes contact, etc. It was perfect graphically...Why make 08 look work and look even more worse with those crappy movements..Just not getting it....

IMO, this is the same old talk as before.

You guys are pretty much repeating the same things you've been repeating for years now.

If EA would've cared at any point, they would've never made E-Lite in the first place.

Im all for solutions, but until they show me they care to make solutions happen, what does it matter to keep saying the same thing?

Man, look at the artistic depth the game had. Correct team color palettes for courts and jerseys, hi-res bench players, variety and detail in accessories...

                Simply an example to follow.

Those were the days. So many late nights playing online. I was so excited jumping from LIVE/2K on the PS2 to 360 version of those games. Even though 2K looked incredible, i always thought LIVE had more details put in into the players and jerseys. LIVE also had the advantage when it came to signature shots. I really hope they can make a comeback with the game this year.

                    Nice work BS!.

Looking at NBA Live 10, it so sad to see what they did to 11.

They had such a great foundation to work with, never should've messed with it.

Exactly. In an attempt to "revolutionize" Basketball gaming, they ended up messing their own product, and it affected the franchise in the long-term.

Yeah every time I play Live 10, and then read his comments again about building off Elite 11 and salvaging stuff from it...I just SMH!!!!

I mean Elite 11 was pure **** and that's putting it lightly!!!! My mind still wonders why they aren't building off Live 10 and moving forward from such a great game overall...Just sadness..

I believe they see how the RTP really make the user play on ball defense and how it could be a big game changer. I agree that Elite 11 was garbage but if they would have developed it in the background and put it in when it was ready Live could have been great.

Am I the only one that wants a copy of Elite? I know the game was a failure, but I'd love to have some time with the game just to test the posibilities of it. I still got the demo in my HDD, and when I try to play it, I can see what they were trying to accomplish. It's just that they didn't have time to make it look like basketball.

I would love to get my hands on a copy as well! I want to experience the full game for myself and see what worked and what didn't.
