i've played both games. and my review.

i gotta say both are real good games and both have somestuff that i dont like.

    NBA Live Review:
-10 man motion cap is amazing i love it the player movements are smooth and animations.
-shooting the ball seems to be fair(fg percentage)
-Graphics are better then 2003 but nothing special.
-atmosphere of the game is really good better then espn.
-The Pro Hop is a real nice feature adds realism.
-The shot and lay up button is very cool.
-I Hate the gamepace is crazy sometimes
-Fastbreaks are often weird because when u pass it the player like turns are and starts sliding back with the ball.
    - I wish the rim changed i dont like how it is too much it seems like a basket.
    - 1-1 is good feature its hot.
    - Shoes are so cool to pick and wear.
    - The court for live seems small for me.
    - Online mode is good too u can use updated rosters online, check ur stats online

    ESPN Review:

    -Those graphics areeeee amazinggggggg
-Cut Scences are amazing as well
-Game is block happy kobe blocked duncan 3 times in one game for me.
-Animations are decent not as good as lives
-Iso Motion is ok not close to freestyle
-I like the rim pysics in this game more then live.
    -no pro hop.!
-no shot or lay up button!
    -button responise is slow.
    -crowds looking nice.
-post moves suck no hook shot?
-24/7 mode is a awesome feature very intersting and entertaining.
-the game seemed very boring to me after playing a few games in franchise mode by the way franchise mode was good it was fun i hired a few coaches and fired a few.
    - Court spacing and the court size in espn are excellent.
-Online mode is decent u cant use updated rosters online but its fun to play.

i'd Rate NBA Live a 8.7 ESPN Basketball a 8.1 . Just my 2 cents after evaluating the games for about 3 weeks. I think espn is a showcase of basketball and nba live is the gameplay of basketball anyone agree? Both are good games.

Re: i\'ve played both games. and my review.

I've played both extensively as well but haven't bought one yet. I can safely say both are very good choices, you can't go wrong either way. That's good for most gamers, but bad for people like me who have a hard time deciding.
It comes down to individual likes and dislikes and a person's taste. That's why with these games, more than any others, you shouldn't base your decision on reviews or board messages. You simply have to try both.
I'm not a hardcore gamer, don't care too much about dynasty modes. I will likely choose Live. I prefer Live's graphics overall, though ESPN has better graphics in the cut scenes. I like Live's atmosphere, much better post game, wide array of choices in throwback uniforms (I like nostalgia). Only two things I found troubling with Live: The court is small in proportion to the players, so they go up and down pretty fast. Also, too many easy fastbreak baskets for the computer. But I can live with both of those problems.
    Overall, I enjoyed both games.
I might just buy a used copy of Live in a couple of months because I'm more looking forward to a college game, likely March Madness, but I'll also give ESPN a try.

It's on me. I shook his hand too hard. It was a hard ... kind of a slap-shake.

"What? You can't challenge a scoring play?''
