Dont tell me there isnt "catchup" AI...

My Jazz have a big lead on the Hornets late in the 1st half...shooting cools off a bit, but we're still playing aggressive defense and keeping a hand in the face of every shooter. Then, it's "bombs away", hand-in-face be damned...

3 point FG - New Orleans
    1st quarter - 3/7
    2nd quarter - 2/7
    3rd quarter - 2/9
    4th quarter - 8/11

Yep...8/11. Mashburn and Davis couldnt miss, even shooting out of doubleteam animation. I dont mind losing, but I hate losing like this, where it seems like no matter what I do, the computer just refuses to let the outcome work out a certain way. Very very frustrating.

Another thing I'm noticing...is it me, or does the CPU hit 95% of it's last-second 24-second clock shots??? I have been noticing the trend over the past few games, but when Magloire drained (nothing but net, no less) a 24-second clock buzzer beater from the top of the key, it pretty much cinched my conspiracy theory...

Still fun...I just hate the EA catchup thing. It was why I stopped playing Madden, and IMO it would appear they've infected Live with it too...

Well guys, i hate to say it but there are big runs in the NBA, i mean the nuggets will make a run on the lakers, such as 12/0 run even though they are down by 20, the lakers will create another run and blow them out by 35, but runs do occur in the nba, and i believed there was a comeback ai in madden 2004 just my opinon.................

I don't know if it's "comeback AI", but there DEFINITELY is something that runs across all EA games that inexplicably allow games to be close. It usually happens in the computer's favor; it doesn't happen as frequently for the human player, but it happens. And yeah, it's that AI that ruined playing Madden for me too.

And I agree wholeheartedly about the 24-second last shot percentage by the computer - contested or no, it's going to hit the shot. Have had games consistently where I mount a furious comeback late in the game; the computer went to running the clock and busts a contested three-point shot in my face right as the clock is running out. Happens CONSISTENTLY.

Sure, runs happen in the NBA - but in Live, they occur in a way that makes the game seem like it's just following a script. Just like Madden, unfortunately. Still, it's a good game.

HBO's "The Wire" should rank as one of the top 10 shows EVER on tv - period

That's true...but I find those 3-point stats I posted difficult to chalk up as a "run". I continued playing a sound game, taking good shots and playing an aggressive trapping defense...and when I hit the 4th quarter, the CPU decided it needed to make it close. It's one thing to get lackadaisacal and give them open looks, like you'll see when a team makes a run...it's another thing entirely to see Baron Davis jump up out of doubleteam animation and drain 3 after 3 after 3...
