I played a couple games with the CPU assistance off, but I (Bulls) blew out the other teams by like 20 each game, so I'm gonna switch it back on to make the games a little more interesting.
Anyways, so, how do you change the play sets without affecting the users set plays? I play with a profile, so when I go in to switch the offensive type and plays, I switch back to player1 and then set, but I'm not sure once I change back to MY profile that the plays are kept. So, can someone type up a little manual or instructions for most everybody in this thread?

                  Let's clear something up.

Changing the CPU's offensive set from Dynamic to whatever it is they run is fine.

But changing the 4 plays that the CPU can run (this is where I have a problem).

When you change your 4 plays and then switch over to the CPU to change their 4 plays, the CPU's 4 plays are always the 4 plays that you assigned for yourself.

There's no way around this (or is there).

I watched a CPU vs. CPU game with the Lakers and switched their Offensive Set from Dynamic to Inside Triangle and they ran the Triangle all game (which I have no real problem with).

It seemed that while they were in the Triangle on every play, they ran different versions (called different plays) out of the Triangle.

-Shaq would start at the top of the key and roll towards the baseline.

-Karl Malone would be at the right wing.

-Kobe would roll around the perimeter.

This is the way every single play began.
*Also, that C and PF posting up with the SG and SF in the corners was eliminated*

Then the variations took place. On alot of plays, Shaq would get the ball down low. On some plays, he would kick it to Malone for a jumper. On some plays, GP would post up on the baseline.

I don't think we are supposed to change the CPU's 4 plays. That's where I'm starting to get confused.

                  <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

I change the PLAYS in strategy to TRIANGLE (for LA ) etc.

I do not change the 4 plays in controller.

I am seeing a nice mix of triangle offense as BIGEAST just described...with a bit of variety, ie some POST UPS FOR KARL and SHAQ and iso's for Kobe.

IMO...just change team strategy away from DYNAMIC.

All teams run standard picks, iso, post ups anyway in the NBA.

Changing strategy is the key to getting the *general* play sets correct

*Also, that C and PF posting up with the SG and SF in the corners was eliminated*

Then the variations took place. On alot of plays, Shaq would get the ball down low. On some plays, he would kick it to Malone for a jumper. On some plays, GP would post up on the baseline.

I don't think we are supposed to change the CPU's 4 plays. That's where I'm starting to get confused.

Changing strategy is the key to getting the *general* play sets correct [/quote}]

You're actually right Monkey. The Triangle runs every single triangle play in the playbooks, which provides a nice variation. Those 4 individual playset options you have are just that, options.

*Also, that C and PF posting up with the SG and SF in the corners was eliminated*

i just discovered something this morning...just wanna share it with you guys...i was really having a hard time playing the nets because im so used to playing every team using my favorite play which is double high 2...apparantly this play doesn't fit with the nets brand of play...ZONE STACK gave me so much fun playing the nets...what happens here is that kenyon martin would be roaming the shaded area looking for open spots...he would either be coming from the top of the key, the left wing or the right wing side of the court... at this point kidd will most probably be setting the play for the nets...the fun thing is anytime you can dump the ball to kmart! he can go for a quick jam, a layup or an alley oop! you can make kidd slash to the hoop, make a pro hop then press R2 on your controller and most of the time KMART will be leaping for the ball like hell and dunk it!
