doing an experiment with user on-ball defense assist

the key to good defense is good positioning correct? the on-ball defense assist helps with defensive positioning correct? i am trying to determine or prove that with better positioning you have more effect on the cpu's shot and the likelyhood that it will go in.

i am currently running a few game with everything at default all star except ofcourse fouls, fatigue, and user substitution frequency.

i am playing as the nets vs. the mavs and they are currently 5/17 from the field. this is with the on-ball defense assist set at 100.

Re: doing an experiment with user on-ball defense assist

after going up by 18 at halftime the mavs came out and outscored my 41-22 shooting 64% from the field in the 3rd quarter. that gave them an 85-84 lead to start the 4th quarter.

their fg% was way down until huge f'n run that they had. i am going to run some more games with the same teams but the on-ball defense assist set at different numbers.

i tried to finish the game but i couldn't stand it any longer as the run just didn't seem right.

I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...

sorry W but that experiment upset me. LOL

i did notice while screwing with it that it seems that pro hop and power dribble are effected by adjusting the freestyle effectiveness slider. i have both user and cpu set to 40 and i have only seen a few pro hops by the cpu. in the game i just finished i didn't see a pro hop through 3 quarters. the only ones i did see were when the pro hopper had mad space to execute the move. there was none of that pro hop and push 2 guys in route to an easy dunk or lay-up.

the rest of my sliders are all user and cpu sliders set to 40 except substitution frequency which is set to 50 for both.

the game ended with me having 6 offensive rebounds. more than i've had before.

this stuff is intriguing when you actually go through and do the work yourself.

wow, i haven't even touched the slider. but now that you mention it, you're right, which is a good thing! i got tired of seeong GP pro hop his way for a easy two. also, i've noticed there are alot more mid-range jumpers since the cpu can't rely on it's $ move as often. i'll keep messong with this and give you a heads up...
