I still laugh at those today:

'Elite is being better than the best'

'Elite is true to the game' etc.

and hearing Brandon Jennings and Steph Curry talk about how they can't wait for the game to come out and people play it... they're still waiting

I knew Elite 11 would be a disaster when they mentioned the game had no Turbo, had dribble and shot controls both on the right stick, and if you shot a perfect shot it would go in.

That combined with EA Basketball's Animation Tech was just an accident waiting to happen. Then they topped it off by taking a step backwards graphically. Live has a lot of work to do. They should have gotten started earlier and never should of used anything from Elite. It's sad that Live has been sorry this whole gen.

The thing for me personaly, is that i liked Live 10, i had 2k10 and Live 10, and while i enjoyed 2k10 the most, i thought live 10 was good, much better that past year´s live´s. Then EA destroys a good start in Live 10, and does Elite. And now, they are trying to start from Elite, and for me that´s where the problem resides, they should have started from 0 or from Live 10.

That being said, after this i truly expect EA to cancel the series from this generation of consoles, and start doing their game for next-gen.

Yeah and there were tons of people eating up everything they said. I know what killed me the most was talking about these shooting controls and the shot being all up to you and all of this. If you got a non licensed basketball game and you wanna give guys the control to make every shot if they know how to release the stick, that's one thing. However the point of a simulation NBA basketball game means some people just can't shoot and you'r'e not meant to make every shot. Being able to hit every shot with Rondo or Ben Wallace or Dwight or Iggy just because the 'control is all up to you' ain't NBA basketball. There were people on here talking like that's how things should be though and spouting out the same buzzwords that were being used in those vids though.

EA was like the ultimate used car dealer when promoting Elite, it was kind of hard to not be curious, at the very least. Coming off of Live 10 I was sure that EA was heading in the right direction and the talks of full control and a new physics system made Elite sound really compelling. I think even before the demo came out people were still some what optimistic that the game, at worst, would be the start of something good. Like I said EA is the ultimate used car dealer and people didn't know how bad the game was until they finally go to try it. For the sake of NBA Live, competition, and the future of basketball games I really hope a similar occurence does not happen again this year because if Live is either complete trash or is cancelled once again EA won't be making a basketball game for a long time....although it would be nice to see a return of NBA Street, EA always had that arcade ball down.

They had basketball (sim? and arcade) down until the PS3 and 360 came out. Then they messed up both....NBA Street V3 was one of my favorite games of all time, NBA Street Homecourt was average at best. Still fun but it didnt have the same feel as the first 3.

At this point it might be best for EA to wait until next gen for a basketball game that will compete....although it would be nice for them to get a good foundation down now, than start over AGAIN

Dude, who is running the PR dept over @ EA? "We're showing it, no wait it's crap, oh wait now we're ready, oh god no we're not..." Not good fellas, not good.

It's a game that got cancelled two years ago leaving one basketball title on the landscape. The second it was announced that Live was coming back out with the Live name back, the community was watching the title. The community would be keeping eyes on Sony's NBA title if it got announced it was coming back next year and their game was worse than Elite. EA doesn't need to be silent to attract attention to Live.
u and i both know ea sport usually marketing way are to announce the product hype it up. release a 2 or 3 trailer. maybe a hands on preview. more blog about the feature... they haven't done that this time around. ea hasn't released one gameplay video not one. and ready predictions & roomers are coming forth in saying that live 13 is canceled, it being released as dlc, it 4 show getting delay and in reailty none of us no ****. that all created by silence alone. all ea needs really to shut everyone up is a strong gameplay trailer. and gd hands on presentaion. releasing any thing less is stupid. ea shouldn't release anything till nba live 13 is ready to be shown to the world. anything less is suicide...

You weren't here when we were on the boards with the devs so I can understand that you have no idea what im talking about.

Now I know again why that game sucked so much and why their presentation of it was so bad

...and it was never RTP, that was another buzz word thrown around... it was more like broken rag doll effects from a tech demo
                        oh okay understand....

Wow, I guess competition does do some good after all. If only it was this way with every sports game. Imagine if you will a game developer and I mean a huge one at that not releasing a game because it simply isn't good enough to compete with the competition. COMPETITION is the only way to get the best out of sports games and so I hope one day we will return to true competition with game-makers competing for our hard earned dollars.
