    LMAO, But Seriously, That 100 Hours On Faces Had To be True..... Right????

    Cause its the only thing in that video that looks close to good lol. You can really tell that a bunch of time was put into faces lmao.

    I REALLY think this comment is being under attended to, cause from the looks of things, its true. The faces look great, while nothing else looks anywhere close to bad, everything else is worse than bad and thats saying something.

    When EA said that ****, we shoulda paid attention cause its actually defining the game. We talk about the 2 years of dev time they had, but we ignore the comment about 100 hours being done on faces. EA actually thought that would be an area they could compete in, and they dedicated great time to the faces, leading to what we have now, a horrible demonstration of basketball with good looking faces.

    I mean, like seriously, that comment is 100% true. I seriously think that EA was planning on using the faces as one of their main promo tools and it shows. What do you dudes think????? I noticed that this comment did not get enough attention so I had to bring it up, cause its VERY relevent to the production of this game. They literally put 100 hours into the faces, and then complained about having a short dev cycle. LMAO, pleeeeeeeeease let this thread ride out mods, cause its a serious topic, I just cant stop laughing at the fact that they were serious about it.

    So thanks in advance if yall keep it open ok..........

    I agree with you the detail on player's faces were much more better than 2k in my opinion.. you can tell they put a lot of detail in making realistic player faces

      No, I never said they looked better than 2k's, they are not even close in any way, shape, or form. I was just stating that Lives faces were the only thing that looked solid, for them to have dedicated 100 hours to faces shows, cause the rest of the game aint ****. I mean, why the fukk would anybody/company in their right mind think that it was OK to spend 100 hours on some shyt that has nothing at all to do with gameplay. EA needs to cancel Live for good, **** it, lets get 989 Sports back in here to make another NBA Shootout lol, im sure they can do better than that garbage EA is about to release.

        To be fair to the Live dev team, the people working on graphics arent the same people working on gameplay. Although its a surprise that the whole body isnt as detailed as the faces....you would think its a package deal lol

        Graphics have never been a major issue for Live, its the gameplay that has the core issues (Live 10 aside)

          For the stars, wasn't it 100 hours for EACH face? Thought I heard a developer say that in an E3 interview... Either way, it's crazy to put this stuff before gameplay in development...

              That's not true. Presentation is great. I think Presentation is the best thing about this game. Graphics still are off to me, but I don't care about any of that until the gameplay/physics/mechanics are fixed. Foundation people.

                Unless they utilize some of that time for making proper face expressions and emotions coupled with matching body language, the faces will only look good in screenshots. Having great looking models and textures is fine, but you need to add the animation to show how much that work can shine.

                  The faces look like caricatures.. Like they took the noticeable features of the face and over emphasized them..

                    i had a serious probem with the guy saying that when i heard the interview. i'm thinking " so... we are going to act like live 10, and 09 didnt visually look good enough. the faces, were always good enough." its the MOVEMENT, player MOVEMENT. how the players move was the visual problem. they move robotically like someone posted in that robotic thread. hows about putting a 1000 hours into player realistic movement. or maybe they did. but from that pre-alpha build it didnt look like they put the 1000 hours in on body movement atleast until after that pre-alpha build. so we'll see.

                      The player models as far as the body types all look the same, and the only time you really get to see the faces are in cut scenes and replays. So you actually have to play the game, before you can actually see the good stuff. Lol, 2k is still working on their game and the footage shown in the insights are of an older build, every 2k footage has been old footage. Just to let you know.

                        They didn't put graphics before gameplay. If you didn't know by now, gameplay and art are two entirely different departments with entirely different staff. The reason why they mentioned putting 100 hours into faces was because they didn't have much to show gameplay wise, not because they were neglecting gameplay altogether.

                          good points. then the question remains. WHY didnt they have anything to show gameplay wise. they had atleast one full game cycle to show us something. what have they been doing? do they need to hire some new guys? or is upper management taking their time and putting them on to many other games and not allowing them to dedicate themselves to this title?(thats what i think is happening, which is why they cancel elite and wont talk about this one. devs were pissed last time if you guys remember and they knew the game wasnt ready. but upper management was trying to force them to sell the game as normal. i think upper management is doing it again to them. not giving the game play guys enough time on the game and this game alone and trying to force it out. but this time the devs are like fine let them see how incomplete this is so you guys at the top can allow us to do our jobs.

                            What I liked about the player face models from what I saw were the facial parts were proportional (except for Lebron Jame's bottom lip lol). This is something 2k never gets right. Their cyberfaces can look like a player to a certain extent, but their facial parts are either too big or too small. Such details take away from the accuracy of the depiction of the face.
