To be honest I think this is a smart move by EA having a 20$ price I'm guessing EA is doing this as a way to make up for the fans for canceling Elite 11 and then skipping a year as well. And for just 20$ I wouldnt mind buying the game as long as EA fixed the issues we saw in the leaked footage then I'll buy it.Comment

Wait lemme get this straight....you are saying the community must buy it to test it out to help ea?????????WHERE THEY DO THAT AT???? isn't that why companies hire testers?? isnt that what the game gamechangers and this board is for to give constructive feedback to help make a better live? this post can't be serious..if So I got a jumprope...give me 20 dollars and tell me if it works..let me know if its durable
Thementality on here is so sad its laughable

i don't see a loss on my part. a game is supposed to be fun and enjoyable. and even with all the realistic features 2k has . it just isn't really that fun unless you got friend with you. but then you can get the same type of fun with live if you get a friend.
i always had fun going threw a live season. like a said before 2k11 is the best basketball game on this console i love it but. just because it is better does not mean it is fun. if that makes sense for you. if it don't o well it makes sense to meComment

Re: NBA Live 13 a $20 Digital Release This October?
Some of the people here are ridiculous with their blind faith in EA. The game will be complete garbage. EA is basically admitting that by making it a $20 digital release. And no, that's not the same thing as NFL 2K5. 2K5 is arguably the greatest sports game of all time. The reason they're making it a $20 digital release is because they can't compete. Hell, one guy in this thread actually said he'd buy Live 13 no matter what. How stupid is that? I almost blame the consumers more than anybody for EA's mediocrity throughout this gen. They're spoon feeding people crap and they continue to buy it for some reason.Comment

What I'm seeing here is that fans are accepting what ever EA is putting out like some Cult and protecting them like they are brainwashed. If fans accept this game and the game sells huge numbers EA will keep putting out the same or similar game over and over. The way people are going on in here EA is cheating itself by selling it for $20.
It's actually sad in a bad economy people would accept mediocre for any amount. I like competition and a choice too, but I refuse to buy a cheap car with four flats when I can buy a high performance car.Poe is an advocate for realistic boxing videogames.Comment

I like many here foresee no competition from NBA Live. Live 13 will be a disfunctional product released merely to generate some profit. EA will only take their bottom line into account when developing video games, yet thats just my opinion.Comment

The fact that the thing you brought up to criticize 2K for is the online is actually pretty telling of their game. They make some pretty quality basketball games when the first beef someone has with it is the online servers.Comment

The scariest part about Live being disowned by it's own company is that EA, with all it's billions of dollars, can't hire talented human beings to bring great ideas to the table. How hard is it to study 2K, and everything 2K does great, and build on that to create a competitor?

Really Live 10 had the foundation to do just what you said, but the big wigs didnt like the overall numbers and decided there needed to be a drastic change (Elite....)
I still cannot see how they can charge $20 for a glorified demo, even if it is for consumer feedback (Isnt that what the Gamechangers program is for?). Even if someone prefers Live's controls, I just dont see how it can make much of a difference if the core game plays nothing like the sport it is trying to replicate.FEAR THE DEER!Comment

Re: NBA Live 13 a $20 Digital Release This October?
Maybe, but its seriously doubtful. The writing on the wall about this being a downloadable game has been there all summer. Plus, we are one month away from the supposed release date. They dont really have much flex room anymore for deciding on whether this is going to stores or going to be digital only.Comment

Re: NBA Live 13 a $20 Digital Release This October?
I'm reading way too many posts saying that EA can make a profit by selling LIVE for $20.
You can't make profit if your sales numbers don't surpass your development and production costs.
You can't make profit with this title when you haven't released a NBA LIVE/ELITE product since the Fall of 2009.
You can't make profit when money has been trickling away due to firings, hiring, reshuffling of development teams, and paying for licensing when a product was not released.
This release would have to surpass industry record numbers for them to make profit. Halo, COD, GTA numbers, come on people.
The price point is not a way to make money. It's a means of salvaging an underwhelming product.Comment

Re: NBA Live 13 a $20 Digital Release This October?
In my opinion NbA2K11 is the best basketball game on the current gen consoles and 2K13 does not look better than that to me.
So instead of spend 60$ i could spend and hour's worth of a paycheck and get live with updated rosters, online, a franchise mode, acceptable presentation, great crowd atmosphere and a since its not polished enough to be a full sim arcade mixed in with sim for and enjoyable experience
its a game the point is to have fun so if you can have fun for a lower cost than its even better.
o trust me they will hear people bashing the game. they are probably on here right now reading this. but the game changers should but up some good information that should advance the game.
and then i go back to the fact that to me they were trying to compete with 2k this because they only had 8 months to work on the game. so they build of the positives they have this year. atmosphere, presentation and go forward and we will see what happens next year but until then . i see no problem with buy a roster update with good aspects for 20$.

...we held several meetings to discuss the future of the franchise. After going through those meetings, it became very clear that the vision I had for the game was different from where the leadership wanted to take it. I parted ways with EA shortly after...Comment
