Hmm. I was going to get it because it was going to be $20. Not gonna get 2k or Live next year for $60.

exactly, i agree. I remember after E3 ea was like "well we didnt actually have 2 years of development, it was more like half a year" and in my head im thinking....why? You had all this time, and instead of using it to get a game ready, you decided you could just fire your entire dev. team, move into a new location, get new tech, and churn out a brand new game based on a brand new system and have it up and running (much less competing) with a constant sports game of the year contender? That is terrible management. The sad thing is its taken 3 years just for them to cancel the title AGAIN. Where is the time management and direction? I put this one solely on the management team and their decision making. Not on the devs. There's no reason a quality title should have to take four years to develop after having a strong starting base, NBA live 10, which they for some reason decided wasn't good.
A major screw up all around from the decision making process.
I know you dont want to pay tons of money for a product you wont be releasing for a few years, but the very least you could have picked out a head designer two years ago, and had him play around with the concept and past work and get a blueprint set up for the development cycle. Way to suck...Comment

Re: NBA Live 13 Has Been Canned
I was thinking about that, too. My guess is that EA wants to leverage the tech that is shared between their sports franchises (i.e. physics) and they probably can't do that with Live 10's code base. That would partially explain why Elite turned out so bad. They had to rebuild the core of the game and they couldn't get it to look right. It gets scrapped and a whole new dev team has to pick up that flawed base, figure out what they have, and fix it. It still is not up to snuff and now we have another cancellation. The sad thing is its taken 3 years just for them to cancel the title AGAIN. Where is the time management and direction? Everyone at Ea should be fired!!!! How can the same ppl that make NHL, and Fifa games (which are by far the best games they put out yr after yr) make a bball game that looks as crappy as Live did....how come they cant make a it look and feel as real as fifa and nhl...i just dont get it.*ImOn2TheX1*Comment

Re: NBA Live 13 Has Been Canned
Out of curiosity, when are the next generations set to launch? EA working toward the next generation exclusively doesn't seem so terrible on the surface.Comment

I just ask myself one simple question: Do the guys at EA actually know what they're doing? Seems like they keep heading into the wrong direction without knowing it until somebody wakes them up! It's more than just embarrassing or a bad joke - it's a shame. Can't believe we're talking about the biggest, wealthiest company in video game business...Comment
