Does NBA Elite 12 & Live 13 cancellation effect contract with ESPN?

[UPDATE] ESPN brand and programming to surface in EA sports titles on all platforms; Sega Sports and Visual Concepts thrown for a loss, again.

I know they have that 15 year deal with ESPN and that's since 2005. But since EA hasn't released a NBA game in 2 consecutive years does that have any effect on the contract between the two?

ESPN already got their money. They could care less as long as EA doesnt promote their brand in a negative manner.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

Canceling the release of a game with their name on it 2 years in a row isn't bad?

2 cancellations, but 3 years out. ESPN DOES miss out on royalty payments, but I'm sure they get some $ anyway to make up for it.

As someone said - no, they still get their money and they don't care as long as the checks don't bounce.

If Live was the only game that ESPN was included in then it might. Think we tend to forget that the ESPN license covers more than just NBA Live.

What other game do they have out that uses the ESPN license? They don't make a baseball game. No NCAABB game. No NBA game. Does Fifa or the NHL use it? Just looked at them on youtube and it looks like they went the 'Madden route' and made something similar to another network's broadcast. Maybe I'm missing one but the only other game is NCAA football.

Edit: Fight Night uses it to but that game is on the ropes as well.
Edit #2: If you count the little ticker thing Tiger has it as well. Don't remember it during gameplay.

I beleive FIFA in North America does use it. Not in the European version however

Trust me, ESPN isn't concerned that NBA Live continues to go belly up.

Fifa sells 1 million its first week. Trust me, there are not worried.

                  Edit: I Stand corrected, 4.5

FIFA 13 breaks EA sales records; 4.5 million copies in five days
