is this lives time to shine?

The next generation of gaming starts this year and EA delayed live again last year just to release this october. Do you guys think they were preparing for this moment to get a let up on 2k for nextgenration systems?

I think they will be better prepared for next gen than current gen & that it will be a smoother transition.

Why does EA continue to get the benefit of the doubt from you people. How are they going to get a leg up on 2K for next gen? If the dev kits are already out for the next gen systems (which reports say they are) and EA had one in time to prepare a game for next gen this fall, you think 2K doesn't have one? As if EA is the only one that got a kit or something while 2K was just sitting around chilling.

Well knowing 2k , 2k14 will be just a port on,next gen systems meanwhile ea can make live specifically for nextgen while porting it to ps3 and 360. So question is , is it lives time to shine?

How you can think the Live will catch up to 2K anytime soon is mind boggling.

What exactly has the Live team done to show you hope? They have severely botched live since the Great 200l game on PC, and have shown almost no regard for quality SIM action since then.

2K is widely, and wisely, regarded as one of the most SIM and advanced sport titles ever. 2k11 and 2K13 are some of the finest pieces of sport programming EVER.

So no, I do not think Live has a chance in Hell.

Can you please provide information on where you got this from?

Yes because that's worked out so smashingly for them in previous years.

Again why is it that EA continues to get the benefit of the doubt from you random people here? If 2K makes the tip of a shoestring the wrong color it's a complete meltdown and they catch hell from every direction. People are still running around butthurt about Jay-Z' involvement with 2K13 and yet EA can release trash for the entire lifespan of a console generation and get positive reactions and questions of 'is it their time to shine.' Seriously?

First of all, we don't know what either company is going to do and I can say confidently that if 2K DOES just port the current engine over to next gen, then EA is already in last place cause 2K will already have a quality game out and EA will STILL be what it is right now. A question mark. So no, it's not their "time to shine."

Yes they can make it specifically for next gen HOWEVER they have nothing to build off of. They are still trying to get the basics down. No way is it there time to shine. 2K is building on a solid foundation, Live is just tryna get back into the swing of things.
It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

they can shine, but people already have the mind set that live isn't going to be good. Some 2k players will buy live because they want to try something different

This thread is comical at best. You can't spell NBA dEAd without EA in the middle of it. To the people giving these guys the benefit, can you please tell me what current NBA game you're playing from EA made after Live 10, & not named NBA Jam/OFE?

                    I'll wait...

EA just need to work on the basics...

                      anything is possible...
2 titles on next Gen is a positive, and both these NBA titles probably wont reach their stride on the new gen consoles 2/3 years from the console release dates.
With that being said. the first few releases will come down to mostly graphical improvements, and minimal game change, AI will undoubtedly be improved, but only in incremental steps from both titles.
That's all part of the hardware/software development life-cycle.

I look forward to see what 2k will look like, cause that is my game of choice, and the game play is already solid
