Used quite a few and the patches look very good...better 'in game' than they do in those pics.

I just wish like hell EA would release a patch fixing the rebounds and mid range game...

I don't care if Ben Wallace looks better with a patch...I want him to actually offensive rebound instead of standing around wathcin the ball like he's been smokin down the local park.

Certainly! These areas need to be addressed in the future, and I'm strongly guessing the 2005 iteration will inch closer to some sort of resolution to the problem, I don't beleive anyone is overlooking this fact.

In all honesty, to what level you experience these problem also depends largely on your experiences and skill/strategy with the game. I for one am able to seize a decent amount of rebounds on both ends, and although not quite indicative of the actual game, seems to be a reasonable amount nonetheless. This applies to other aspects of the game. As time progresses, while discovering new ways of playing the game and improving certain game deficiencies, I'm able to mitigate well known issues. Having said that, and as you all know, some issues just can't be corrected!

My main intention for posting the previous response was to display the potential of the game, since I recall some arguing this very aspect of the game in relation to other well known games such as ESPN basketball. I'm sure there are numerous threads which happily delve into the gameplay inaccuracies

On a side note, when did you purchase the PC game? How do you feel about the game and have you noticed any difference in gameplay?

Btw, over at the NLSC we have sent in a petition for a patch and I beleive rebounding is one of the issues stated in that petition. I can't say if it's feasible at this point to address such a problem via a patch, but we'll see. As you may know, one of the game's producers Tim Tschirner, created the website and was part of the live community for quite some time (Not to say he isn't now, but mainly in a different capacity). Anyhow, the point here is that as a result of this, the NLSC community is able to work very closely with EA on such matters. I'm sure this facilitation played a large part in leading to the recent patch release/leak.

Re: NBA LIVE 2004(PC) T-Mac(by Alex). Check this out!

PC game is nice for the graphics...and the patch makers are very cool. Gameplay wise, it's the same game though.

The rebounds are not a problem for me. I can take control of my PF under the basket and grab offensive boards.

The problem is... the CPU simply doesn't offensive rebound. They pick up the odd ball off the deck, but they don't actually go after rebounds.

It's kind of why I gave up on the game...as I'd start to get 10 plus offensive boards a game.

And the CPU would get 1.

I actually played games they got none.

It means the human controlled player has a huge advanatage etc...so your actually better off not even bothering to go after them, to make it even etc.

I know all about Tim and Lutz and the site. I know Tims at EA and they don't seem to be giving us a patch.(got the leaked patch, which addresses no gameplay issues)

            Whatever happened to Lutz btw?

Yes, this could be a problem. What sliders are you making use of by the way? Cpu rebounding is off and on for me. Here's an idea which I plan on tinkering with later. If you haven't tried this, why not increase cpu offensive rebounding while perhaps reducing human defensive rebounding to balance it out? Give this a try and let us know how it pans out.

Lutz stuck around for an additional year or two after Tim moved on to EA, then decided to dedicate more time to family and work I beleive. In regards to the patch, it looks like it was leaked somehow, but I highly doubt that it's the final version, which really is reason why we should wait for the official release or release notes to determine what has or will be addressed.

Tried editing all the CPU players on one team (Spurs) to 99 for boards O and D.

Put mine all to 50...nothing changes though. It's an AI issue.

I remember Tim and Lutz from years back...used to post on their site 6 or so years back.

Glad their both doing well I remember they used to spend a tonne of time on LIVE 97 etc for PC and it was always appreciated. It used to be "damm this game is horrible...every C takes 30 shots a game..." and then you'd wait for Tim and Lutz to fix it. Cool guys

I am glad I got the Buell- I love riding it, I love the oddball looks I get on the road- I love people asking "What IS that thing?" I love flying into a corner WAY too hot, scared spitless and sure I'll never hold it at this speed- and hearing the bike whisper "Sissy!"...
