Also does the PC version of the game offer more options to edit the game or does it just have the exact same sliders as the console versions.

Is there mods or patches that make the PC version more realistic?
I'm primarily a Xbox gamer and have been happy with ID however I've yet to really find the perfect Basketball sim. Since I just bought a new PC and since Live is only $20 for the PC right now I'm looking into picking it up. I want to know if the PC version allows for mods or patches that make the game even more realistic. I know there are sliders however it's my opinion that there are still certain things that sliders don't fix in the game. For example, is there patches that make every team run their specific plays or play the tempo that their teams play in real life? Is their patches that take care of the lack of offensive rebounds problem? Is there patches to make the A.I. play better or manage the clock better?
Also does the PC version of the game offer more options to edit the game or does it just have the exact same sliders as the console versions.Tags: None -

You can get a play sets roster from NLSC featuring KDRE's play sets. Pretty good IMO. LA will run the triangle etc, Nets motion.
It's not as good as ID still for play sets...ie there's very little mid range game no matter what you do amd youll still get the "sg dribbles the clock down and shoots the 3" a lot...but KDRE's sets are cool.
Re Offensive rebounds...sadly, there's nothing that can be done for this. Offensive rebounding logic just isn't in this years game unfortunately.
Re sliders...they are the same as the Xbox version. -

Re: Is there mods or patches that make the PC version more realistic?
Monkey,
Where can I find the roster you were talking about? I downloaded the latest roster, but it did not have team specific playsets.
Also, do you know if it's possible to load a roster in the middle of a franchise or season? I did this once before, only it changed every team's record to their 2003 record. For example, I was 6-2 with the Pistons and after I patched the roster, it said my record was 50-32."He who controlleths the backboard, controlleths the game." - Adolph RuppComment

I am not sure if you can add the roster to a current season. Cocobee will know if he reads this.
Yeah, sorry...my mistake. The rosters with play sets are over at www.NBALIVE.ORG (not NLSC) There's some nice stuff there.
D/L the latest ones...v1.04
Here's a descrinption
The Most Detailed and Deepest Roster Update available for Live 2004.
Updates in version 1.04:
- Current rosters updated as of January 9th, 2004
- Corrected positions based on starting lineups and for better sub patterns
- 95.7% of all player ratings have been updated
- A bunch of bums created using the crappy create player the game has
- Chicago and Washington's team set changed to Motion
- Frank Johnson replaced with Mike D'Antoni (face resembles him, but generic speech)
- Added '87 Lakers, '89 Pistons, and '96 Bulls to go with '92 Bulls and '95 Rockets (Currently there is a five team limit)
- Dennis Rodman player update (by Tony) included so he has his tatoos and wacky hair
- All numbers corrected
- Hand corrected: Adrian Griffin (HOU, Right to Left); Stacey King (92CI, Right to Left)
- Recommended Patches: Tony's Legends Updates, '95 Houston Rockets Patch
Continuing Features:
- Salaries and Salary Cap updated to the real life ones (you will need to start a new dynasty to get the new salaries)
- Sliders (at the end of this file)
- Team sets so teams play like they should
- Scott Skiles replaces Bill Cartwright, Johnny Davis replaces Doc Rivers (uses generic face and speech)Comment

Re: Is there mods or patches that make the PC version more realistic?
Hey thanks Monkey. BTW, does anyone have some realistic slider sets available for download so that I don't trial and error the different sets that are recommended here?
It's a shame that NBA Live hasn't been able to get the offensive to defensive rebounding ratios right (ever in the history of the series) and has always lacked that mid range game. Those two things sound so simple but they, along with realistic free throw attempts, are so important to a sim.Comment
