What about the Game in the Post?

We have heard enough about the Bouncetek (so it seems dribbling and Pick and Roll situations will be deep), we also know about the playbooks and different styles and I guess we will talk about defense sooner than later, however what about the post moves?

I think Live 10 was actually a good game but pretty weak in the post, I hope this will be an area were Live 14 team is working hard and they should excel with it taking advantage of the new (more powerful) consoles, I think this would make the new game a more complete experience, what do you guys think?

    Cheers! ;-)

I agree about Live 10 in the post, and I definitely think that the post should be a focal point of Live 14.

In the first info about the game they said the focus was the 1vs1 and 2 man game which included the post.

I don't think the increase in power of the console has anything to do with post play. Let's ju hope they've put down as much time on that as on bounce tech.

The post game has always been very basic in NBA Live so maybe they finally revamped it.

NBA Live 08 had a good post game. They should go back to those mechanics amd improve on them for live 14

I loved Live 08's post game - except for the too-easy drop-step-spin, and that players would sometimes just turn around and run out or something that made no sense at all. If only the player-vs-player physical interaction was different...

If Live 08 had layup/dunk blocking animations (the game didn't even have it, there was just an automatic animation to challenge layups, which resulted in a nice collision that would happen again and again exactly the same. Defense against dunks didn't exist at all), the post game could have been more fun to play. I loved the shoulder fakes - it was so smooth - worked great, without the need to fight with the stick. So smooth!

I'd love it if they went back to that kind of a post game, but this time with real defense - defending against spins (but NOT like in Live 09/10 - because I thought it was pretty weird), and add more options - like more fakes and more animations overall.

If they ever do go back to the 2-men interaction system, I hope they capture 50 times more animations than they had in 08, because you would see the same 2-3 animations again and again and again...

I actually thought Live 08 started something good, they just never developed it into a more varried/realistic post-game.

Curious to see 14's post game. Hoping it's good!

May be, but real post game is very physical so perhaps the power of the new consoles can make a difference in the physics calculation if they try to implement it in the right way, however I have no clue TBH, I was just guessing a little bit, but definitely I would love Live 14 if, besides all we already know, it incorporates a strong, deep and balanced post repertoire…

I'm pretty sure the added capability of the gen 8 systems can lead to advances on the post gameplay.

would be nice but the nba is going away from that, coaches like kevin mchale want their players to come down the court and launch low percentage shots.
