    Excellent player patch site

I think I enjoy downloading player patches and checking them out more than I do actually playing this game...the PC version is cool like that

Just found this guys site as I was searching for a J O'Neal patch. His one is excellent, best I have seen.

Also got good Al Harrington, Rodney White...quite a few...Anderson of Denver is great.

    Player patches

The player models are a long way off ESPN NBA...but the patch guys really do an excellent job.

    Re: Excellent player patch site

i feel the same way at times.

ive spent more time updating the game than playing it.

I want all the shoes updated by player, faces, and arenas done. ive maybe done 20 hours of work already. while playing maybe 6 or so games.

Yeah...the PC version is kind of fun just for that. I almost look on it more as a chance to see a lot of young artists do their stuff. Some of the work is excellent.

It's always puzzled me though why these guys can make such good face patches and tattoos, accessories and courts etc...but year after year EA release the game with horrible faces, gear missing and court details wrong. I mean, surely they spend more time on it (and have much greater resources) than dudes at home doing it for a hobby?

So how come EA's stuff is much worse?

                Re: Excellent player patch site

they tend to focus on everyone, as a whole, i think. instead of focusing on key players/star players they try to focus on everyone and try to get everyone done 10%. If you know what i mean. they dont really put 100% into any player. instead their work is spread throughout the whole nba and the 300 or so player patches they have to perform.

shoestore.cjb.net is another great resource for shoes.

you can get almost everything done the way you want. I actually sorta stopped wasting my time patching, realizing the game kinda sucks .

it's a love hate relationship really. at times i feel i can play through the bad but when the game looks so good and plays like crap, i just get pissed off. The same o'l bs imo. players auto backing down when you dont want to do that. rebounding. same o'l sh**. But at least i have some hope as i have friends who i play the game against. we get about 13 off. boards a game and it atleast is fun and entertaining, compared to CPU play.

Yeah, it is frustrating. There's a tonne of gameplay flaws in there.

Personally, I am playing Inside Drive and College Hoops...both of which play great games of basketball IMO.

I am enjoying LIVE PC though for fun...

Live 2002 to 2004 has improved so much that I have genuine hope 2005 may be great. Then again, EA seem always to improve something whilst taking out things / making problems in other areas.

                      Here's hoping for 2005
