Uhh yeah?I think people are overreacting, they've said from the beginning and at the end of almost every article that they're planning on a Fall 13 release. Maybe I'm simple but wouldn't Fall 13 be the launch window if that's the case? I think because of their past history people are assuming the worse, but we have screenshots coming on Monday, would they be so apt to put out screens and show off the game if it was unfinished?
I think I'll wait for the official word from EA.

Re: NBA Live 14 no longer launch title, now considered 'launch window' ??
First I will admit I have always preferred 2k basketball to Live; but with 5v5 Crew in 2k playing to 21, I was hoping that Live would offer an alternative.
I was hoping for a basketball league like their NHL created player league.. but this news isn't good.
Didn't they say 5v5 gamplay footage this summer? Now the guy says "sneak peek coming 'soon'". So when is gameplay footage coming?

[quote=Sinner;2045464836]So this multi million dollar corporation I assume has a contract to put a game out every year and they can't release a game in 3 years......but it's the fault of the gamers and their expectations?

Re: NBA Live 14 no longer launch title, now considered 'launch window' ??
Hey everybody, I am a bit skeptical as the rest of you but I just want to point out one interesting thing that leads me to believe we are jumping to conclusions too early on this one (with good reason knowing the history). In Peter Moore's blog that went up yesterday he stated this in reference to FIFA, MADDEN and BF4:
"We know the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are coming in November, but first we've got three of our next-gen launch window titles that hit stores well before that for the PS3 and Xbox 360. "
So EA uses the term "launch window" in reference to even the games that are day one titles. This blog was indeed only about the transitioning from Gen-3 to Gen-4 so there was no need to or even a place to mention NBA Live as it wont have a Gen-3 version.
Secondly I know everyone claims to have a source somewhere but I was fortunate enough to live in Orlando, FL for two years after Hurricane Katrina and I actually have a close friend that is a tester for EA. He has played the most current build of Live 14 just a week ago and has confirmed a few things for me.
-Gameplay is solid
-Graphics are SICK!!!
-Game is near completion but even he doesn't know a release date yet.
-AI just needs a little tweeking. Other than that the game is pretty much done.
He did say to me that he isn't so sure the game is delayed but rather still on track for a Nov. release. He couldn't give me much more than that due to a non-disclosure agreement and honestly I didn't want him to. I was just glad he could reassure me that NBA Live is not in trouble. Hope that relieves you guys as much as it did me. Just something I thought I would share to keep you guys positive til Monday.

No worries, they want to make sure that functional.. Let them take their time and do it right. I believe it is going to be a decent BB game. I looking forward to it!Comment

Nice try Sean O'Brien.....
But really though, it makes no sense to call a title 'launch window' instead of a plain 'launch title' . They have release dates for the next gen versions of BF4, Madden, and Fifa, but not Live. Doesn't that tell you something?Comment

The part you said about the blog is something I have thought about, but it is a lot easier to grab a pitch fork and join the mob than use any reason!Hey everybody, I am a bit skeptical as the rest of you but I just want to point out one interesting thing that leads me to believe we are jumping to conclusions too early on this one (with good reason knowing the history). Oh trust me, I know. I won't lie to you and say I didn't cancel my pre-order. I was furious when I read "launch window" last night. After leaving Gamestop....I hit my homeboy up on facebook only for him to tell me that the game is awesome, near complete and more than likely not getting delayed. LOL.Comment

Re: NBA Live 14 no longer launch title, now considered 'launch window' ??
SRSLY one of the main deciding factors about even going next gen sooner than later and now Live 14 is coming out later ....SmackMyH
!
Just like someone previously stated launch window COULD srsly be even next year Oct 1st....
Other than display my RAGE about this
I'll say something quite positive in its place...
Fifa got a complete over haul from the joke it was on ps2/xbox and gamecube and on what is now current gen PS3 Xbox 360 Fifa up to Fifa13 is considered KING of all sports titles profit wise and gameplay wise. its been reviewed to high accolades as well.
I believe STRONGLY that they want NBALive to be their next "fifa" saga. Go from "meh" to "wow"...
But i'm going more meh than wow right now about even going next gen
Madden 25 and Nba 2k14 are left to impress. With eas move with nba live whos to say nba 2k14 doesnt do the same?
Overall it saves easports money as it would 2k to NOT release any basketball titles except for what maybe 2k has already with the current gen.
Im wondering now would 2k follow suit? If they did it would to pove to us that 2k actually has a NEW engine if they still release its just a rehash of the current gen game just like ignite is with infinity for EA( I mean lets not kid ourselves it ALL THE SAME)
If this launch window stuff starts happening to even what theyve alreayd even announced as coming out madden Fifa and nba 2k14 then i dont see the rush to even getting next gen yet
WONDER how mnay would actually cancel IF they found out madden 25 FIFA 14 and NBA 2k14 wouldnt come out? NBA Live isnt so out of thsoe three NBA 2k14 could actually logically be next to follow suit since they wouldnt HAVE to release
Again and i say this IF the game engine practically the same we WILL see nba 2k14 on ps4/XBOX1 if not if its truely a new game engine it will most def be delayed as wellBrand New Tomba Slider sets ready for Next Gen Versions of NBA,Madden and Fifa Stay Tuned...Comment
