Re: NBA Live 14 Trailer - First Look (Screen Captures Included)

I have to admit that I'm more of a 2k fan. With that being said, it would be nice to play something different. Live 10 wasn't a bad game. It just lacked in some areas. This trailer was ok, not to blow me away though.

Works of advice to you die hard Live fans. You guys have been waiting for this game for awhile now. So I suggest that you guys don't bash this video or any up and coming videos to bad, because yall might make them pull this one or delay it.

Everyone is going off the graphics and truthfully that layup animation was stiff as some has said. And if you willing to say this game is better because of the trailer graphics remember nba lives history back on nba live 10..Trailer looked good everything was decent till well the game released and everyone quickly bashed it. Fool me once wont fool me twice is what im seeing here people will see whats up once they trade they copys in for 2k

Not saying its perfect but I do think you need to watch some videos of some real nba on youtube.

I like the way Live is looking. Really looking forward to playing this game. I may be blind or something but I don't see anything wrong with the way the players look or the game is moving. Guess im just less critical as im not a huge hoops fan anymore to begin with. More of a baseball guy But am not regretting preordering Live.

Ok I checked out some youtube NBA highlights and I still have to stick to my first post the top jersey movement is very little mostly moves wen a player jumps, but having the entire top jersey in a bouncing motion as if wind is blowing thtough it and the player is only walking up the court isnt a good look.

Its basically EA making jersey movement so noticable that no one can say they have the stiff jerseys of there current gen games. A slight tone down on of movement on the top half of the jersey is needed is all im saying.

I agree but I think part of the issue is some players wear their jersey tighter than others perfect example is the Kobe vs Lebron video on youtube. Watch how much more Kobe jersey move vs Lebrons.

Meh. Lets see real gameplay. They have said "100% gameplay footage" before and the game looked completely different.

I agree Kobe seems to wear a couple sizes to big for him lol so I guess the thing for Live to do is have different jersey sizes some loose fit and some tight.

MSG looks beautiful *sheds a tear*.

I dig the attention to detail, but this isn't enough to let me know which b-ball game I'm going with. I need more. Hopefully we get some straight up gameplay soon and less of the runway show. I like what I'm seeing though.

Exactly. What does this show me? Nothing. Give us some actual gameplay and I'll get excited.

You have to get rights to people's image to be able to do things like that. Some celebrities will do it for little or nothing if they are fans of the series, but most of them are jerks and will charge you big bucks to include them in a game.

I say there setting a foundation for the future because I see the innovation, I don't have to feel it to see the potential there. Anything that can make a game more like real life is a plus in my opinion. They just have the right pieces there. Even if bouncetek isn't perfect this year the fact of the matter is they've got a great concept that can only get better as the years progress. I can see a new level of strategy to playing the competitively just by having the basketball separate from the animations.

It's up to them to live up to the potential, but it's definitely there.

An animation engine that runs based off real world physics, momentum, and foot-planting. Dribbling that keeps the ball live and is unique to specific players, A.I that is run by actual player tendencies and stats (for the most part). Team specific defenses and offenses. ESPN License? Ultimate team? EASBL?

I see a game where every match can be fresh and free flowing, because they're adding in the unpredictable elements of reality. You never know when the ball will be poked loose in real life, you never know who's going to hit that game winner, you just never know; it's unpredictable. In 2k and Live I've always been able to learn the animations and use them to my advantage when playing other people, and at times I had to stop myself because I knew certain animations were basically money in the bank (cheese).

I feel like Live 14 has the potential to eliminate most if not all cheese, it's a broad vision but I feel they truly have that potential with the direction they're heading in. I can see Live 17 or 18 as one of the most realistic playing (not necessarily looking; animation wise) games of basketball ever.

You ever watch a hoopmixtape of one of those freshman kids in high school and go "Wow, this kid is gonna be nasty some day"? That's how I'm looking at Live right now. You can just see the potential oozing from the pores of this game, and it's still extremely early.

I'm sure Live 14 will be good but you sound very naïve.

                                Plus this

                                From the new gameinformer.

The crowds are also better at noticing momentum swings. If an NBA team goes on a run and nails three consecutive three pointers at home to pull even with the visitors, the crowd appropriately goes nuts. When a star comes out of the game after putting up big numbers, the home fans give him a standing ovation.

This game has the potential to be the best ever one day.
