Crew games will do it. 2K10/2K11 had this feature and destroyed them. If EA gives this back to us we will jump ship to the Live 14 side and play until our fingers cant move. 2K killed this mode and EA can win all customers and earn our money easily.

Re: How NBA Live Could Dethrone NBA 2K
It looks to me like the only thing NBA Live is going to dethrone at this time is me on the toilet. I mean we are coming up on only 5 weeks til the next-gen launch and not so much as a clip of some 5 on 5 action. Gotta give you credit for the wishful thinking though.Last edited by tsbmolina; 10-09-2013, 09:06 PM.Comment

Re: How NBA Live Could Dethrone NBA 2K
Interesting, and I agree with some of it, but saying 2K turned into a juggernaut after EA couldn't release a game isn't really true. 2K starting taking the lead while Live was still on the market.

Re: How NBA Live Could Dethrone NBA 2K
I have been playing every basketball game since Lakers vs Celtics PC version. I can say that once 2k dropped on the dreamcast, live died. They show a few strong offerings ( 05, 10) but 2k has had their number ever since 2000.
I can't wait to have more choices again and I can't wait to have both Live and 2k on the PS4. But I do agree with RateSports, 2k has owned live for a long time now. It's 'Sconnie not wiscy!!!!!Comment

Yo, let's not forget that the dethroning of Live happened when 2k11 dropped (one of the greatest ever) and NBA Elite didn't ship. I don't see 2K making that awful mistake next gen and Live has a long way to go to deliver a classic. If we're honest, the last time they came close to delivering a classic NBA Live would be 04, if you're being generous. So to think they're hiding this masterpiece of a game, after we saw the NBA Live 13 video isn't a bright assumption. It's actually a ton of wishful thinking. 2K and Live went to battle and they both earned their spots. You cancel Elite, cancel Live 13 and a month out you haven't shown any gameplay, you should expect criticism, skepticism and down right hate. If you drop 2k11-2k14 that has seen the biggest and best years of video game basketball strung together, then you deserve the benefit of the doubt that you won't screw up next gen. It's not about being a fan boy, more than keeping it 100.Comment

It will be hard. 2k never got stagnant even when they were on the market by themselves. They are constantly innovating and trying to improve. I liked the controls from last year, but they changed them again this year. There are reviews that says that the controls are even better this year. I don't think 2k will get complacent, so it will be very hard for them to get dethroned. Complacency is the the only thing that can beat them now.Comment

This will be the 100th time I've said this, but Live needs to reduce their price to entice more buyers. Don't charge full price for a work in progress that you admit isn't as good as the competition right now. After all the debacles, if you drop a dud at full price, it could be over as soon as it starts again."I strive to be live cause I got no choice" - CL Smooth

I'd rather Live get the gameplay right and let word of mouth do the marketing for them, than to have some rushed out 5 on 5 gameplay video that wastes valuable development time and doesn't portray the game in it's fullness.Twitter - @OtistheOriginalComment

I'm not going to say that Ea has no chance of dethroning 2K but I think that is a long way ahead in the future. It's first goal is to get to the same level. At this point it hasn't because both Next-Gen games have not been released. We can't compare a Next-Gen Live with a Current-Gen 2K even if they are both for this year.
Both games will catch people's attention at first because of their graphics. Gameplay will be the feature that gets people to actually buy/keep the game. Finally good game modes will be the most important aspect of the game that keeps the game from being sold in a few weeks.
If EA can make great career modes and association (with online play) then they are set on a good direction. I believe they have a good thing going with the Ignite Engine so it doesn't matter if NBA Live fails to catch up this year. They have more time to get better. For now I will be playing the Next-Gen 2K14. If EA decides to release demos for NBA Live 14 then I will definitely try it.Comment
