EA better not have done this for Live 14

... you will all know what I am talking about when I say EA's courtside announcer.

For years I begged to dump him, but you never listened. If he is STILL there in 2014, you should be ashamed.

Firstly, because no matter who or what feature, it cannot be the same for 10+ years, which this guy has been in every NBA Live game since forever.

Secondly, he doesn't sound authentic, is annoying and can barely pronounce the names.

If I have to hear another 'for two!' again EA, you will have lost all respect.

Even the Live 13 beta had him... smh...

He is talking about Al Murdoch, The former PA announcer for the Vancouver Grizzlies. He has been the PA announcer in Live Since 97 when Mitch Richmond was cover boy.

This OP actually brings up a very good point.

It's next gen we need different PA announcers for each team. It would be better if we got the real PA annoucncers. #NextGenNoExcuses

One guy for all teams is no longer acceptable now.

It definitely would add to the realism, but I doubt EA (or any other company) is going to compensate 29 additional PA announcers to record hours upon hours of audio. I remember reading an article somewhere that Murdoch recorded 40+ hours for the announcing job he did in Live, having to read each name or phrase in 3 different voices (excited, monotone, etc). Plus, I would think all that additional audio would take up a ton of space better used for A.I. or graphical enhancements.

If he's still there, then "It's a union thing". 25c are transferred to his account every time someone plays the game and hears his voice. Should be a billionaire by now.

I disagree. I, personally, don't think it's a big deal. And if he does the job, why change it? As someone mentioned, it would be monumentally stupid for any company to try to record every name, number, etc... for every single PA announcer. That's money that's NOT well spent and not a small amount either.
