Truth be told, if you told me those were next gen screens, I probably wouldn't have believe it at first. I know they're small, and full resolution should look a lot better, but those are extremely underwhelming. I like Oladipo's expression, and Wall's in the "background" screens, but I'm not impressed with much else on it. Oh, and the Shoes, but that's almost a given. Live always has really nicely done shoes.

They really need to fix the body model. Almost everybody is cut to shreds in the upper body and have jumbo calves.

I think it's a little too late for that :/ I am not liking what is happening to this game lately. I have fears they cancel again.

One place I thought Live would have an edge is in the nex-gen engine. What shocks me with every screen though is the terribly simple lighting and textures. No reflections in the skin or on the jerseys. Almost no varied surfaces. The players look like starting lineup figures.

Is this more of a case of poor art direction, far under-utilizing their new engine or what?

I just think it's a case of FAR overblown expectations. No offense to you. How could anyone help it? All you kept hearing was how the game was free to do whatever because it's focus was solely on next-gen. So, of COURSE, it was going to be great based on a history that was dubious. I'm cool with what I'm seeing because I didn't expect the moon. The game looks good. Good enough. Don't compare it to other games. Compare it to it's past iterations (people don't seem to think that's fair either, but THAT is bull). Does it improve? Yes. Now, just wait on gameplay. If there is enough there, if you're a diehard Live fan, you have no excuse not to cool with the art direction and pick it up.

I don't think so because I have friends that were keeping no tabs on this game tell me that it looks like a ps2 game. I have a feeling that trailer did a huge injustice to how it looks because it did look slightly improved in that dribbling video. I'm just wondering what the hell happened to the visuals from E3.

I all suffer with the typical Live player models. These guys need to find their local McDonalds.
