And that's cool. But don't claim to be a simhead when one of the most important elements of any sport is omitted. There should be an option for folks like you. So why is this GOOD news for you? It makes you happy that others are screwed and you don't have to change on option one time? Come on man. The season looks a LOT different now that Aaron Rogers is down. The Bulls with or without DRose are COMPLETELY different. As would Miami without DWade. Injuries are of major importance. But I'm sure you know this.

This is why NBA Live 14 for the Xbox One was only 9GB in file size while NBA 2K14 was 42 GB or something along those lines. THIS is why there should be another NFL game besides Madden because EA is unbelievably lazy and they screw people every year. They make a barebones product the first year, then add one feature each year to get people to buy the game again.

Re: Nba live - no player editing confirmed
for example. i'm a kobe fan. now all hate aside(if you're a kobe *****). you know how clutch the guy is. every single year the coaches vote and they say if they kobe is the guy they want in the tail end of the 4th qtr to take the last shot.. BUT statistically speaking i think melo is above kobe in that area and a couple of other guys. what does that mean? well now here's where it gets fuzy. and here's where you have to make sure you have ALL the stats to show the full truth. the truth is, the reason those other guys are better at making last second shots above kb. is because they have less guys defending them on their jumpshot. kobe has been so deadly for so long with every shot in the book. you guard him from the half court line in. he gets ZERO space. now matter how great lbj is, he isnt a known shooter. no matter what his %'s show you. you will always let him take the jumper over going to the rack. same with melo(even though melo is money from mid range..you will let him take that 3).
so the truth is, kobe probably is the best but if you throw a guy in his jersey and maybe have another 2 or 3 guys lerking. odds are his fg% will drop.
So in the game when this happens the same results should occur. but if you make the mistake of not guarding him in the game on a last second shot. he will make the shot.
This is why you may want to see how good these stats are now before we make judgement.Comment

2k was the low level guy at first. so they did every thing they could to get on top. and we know live fell off the face of the earth at the same time. now 2k is #1. have you not noticed the features have gone down?
they added in my player, then added in crew mode, then enhanced both a bit. then got rid of crew mode. did zero enhancements to my player. then added back a blacktop game thats like a bootleg crew mode.
so you gave us stuff. then took them away. then brought them back a year or so later and called them NEW features. if the real crew mode every comes back. that will be another old feature they took away then added back in to call it "NEW"
so truth is, 2k is getting the big head similar to EA. they are doing some of that same crap that ea used to do. we'll see how it goes this next gen with 2k. we'll see if they are still for the people or just for the $$$ like EA.Comment

now even though i agree with your complaints. lets not put 2k on a pedestal.

yes. read the entire thing in context. yes i said zero. but pay attention. said at first they enhanced both my player and crew mode from both of their original setups. Then they stopped enhancing my player, and they took away a mode. thats my point. we talk about live as if 2k isnt starting to go down that similar dark path once you get on top and stay their for awhile you start taking short cuts and caring less and less about some of us diehards want.Comment

You should provide examples of what you're talking about. MyPlayer was introduced in 2K10 I know for a fact that every year since then has feature some sort of enhancement to the mode with the exception of maybe this year on Current Gen (I don't know because I haven't played it yet) but that doesn't really matter because the mode has been completely overhauled in Next-Gen. If you can't keep yourself from dragging 2K into this forum then you better come with some actual facts to back up things you're saying.Comment

Re: NBA Live 14 - No In-Game Injuries, No Player Editing Outside of Rising Star Mode?
Oh I read your entire thing in context and it's yet more bringing up 2K in a forum that it has no business being brought up in with no detail to what you're saying. You say they added in MyPlayer, enhanced it a bit and then did zero enhancements and lumped it into a pile of reasons you believe that they're turning into EA and taking short cuts and caring less about what die hards want. I won't pretend that they're features and implementations always work out as advertised but this growing joke of a sentiment that continues to go around that the ONE company (second only to the Sony's Show team possibly) that continues to go out of their way every year to try to make the best game that represents their sport possible, doesn't care or isn't trying to make the game we want needs to stop.

the point was to question 2k as of late. are they going the same or similar route to nba live. once you get on top and stay there for awhile. do you start then leaning towards the "casual" fan? which means you really dont have to make legit additions to these games. just add some fluff and people will buy it.i was asking a question.Comment

Re: NBA Live 14 - No In-Game Injuries, No Player Editing Outside of Rising Star Mode?
Maybe I am missing something here, EA will update the rosters based off real-life counterpart......ratings, injuries etc "throughout the season"?
Hypothetical here, you keep the game for two or three years, and EA "stops supporting" rosters for 14. What happens to the rosters then? Are you out of luck?
Also, what about in the off-season? do they update the ratings, injuries etc for players that aren't even on the court?
Sorry, just brainstorming here.Comment

Originally posted by ZoneSixwhy would they keep updating the same game for two or three years when the next version is out?
Well, it would basically render that version useless. There are a ton of people who do not upgrade games for years (me included). If they (EA) stop supporting the roster edits, ratings for NBA 14, It basically forces you to upgrade to the newest version, or lose any hope of editing anything, or play with the same exact rosters season after season. I could foresee a problem there. Just saying.
In other words, they are removing the option to edit, because they are going to "Do it themselves." and my point was, what happens when they "Stop"Comment
