NBA Live 14 - No In-Game Injuries, No Player Editing Outside of Rising Star Mode?

The competition is real on the virtual hardwood. NBA Live 14 will release on Nov. 19 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and EA Sports is serious about delivering a solid product for hoops fans...

Re: NBA Live 14 Interview with Producer, Ryan Ferwerda (Bleacher Report)

They better be on top of their stuff when it comes to rosters, ratings, and player appearance (accessories, shoes, etc.) Because taking away the edit player option forces us to take what they give us. Doesn't even sound like there will be a CAP option outside of Rising Star mode either.

We shall see how this works out.

BM: I always ask this question whenever I get an opportunity to talk to a developer. How will injuries occur? Is there rhyme and reason in regards to how a player lands or falls? Also, can you talk a little about how injuries are presented? Does a player get taken to the locker room; does it depend on the severity of the injury?

RF: If a player is injured in real life, it will be reflected in the line-up for the day.
      Major red flag for me.

Live 10 didn't have in-game injuries. The way this guy responds make it sound like there are no in-game injuries.

Also, his response on player editing sounds like we can't change accessories in modes outside of Rising Stars.

Nba live - no player editing confirmed

BM: Will gamers have an opportunity to edit player ratings, hairstyles or accessories. This is piggy-backing a bit off the customization question.

RF: In Rising Star, yes, you’ll be able to customize your player. However, NBA players will stay true to their real life counterparts, but with the power of a connected experience, we can update appearances to reflect any changes throughout the season.

          Siiiigh

If this is indeed true this is a huge letdown. Why remove the ability to customize completely? I get the idea of wanting to really show off the connected experience, but what if those player ratings don't translate or get abused in the actual in game product? Now we aren't able to adjust whatsoever to work around those issues?

This was a huge feature in Live 10 that did wonders for roster editing. Puzzling decision by EA to remove this.

              What an odd decision...

              really, really bad news...

I'm assuming this includes things like signature shots etc.

Personally I couldn't care less about this as long as they keep to their word of updating appearance such as shooting sleeves on dwight etc

This is Very Disappointing. Instead of making a POSITIVE impact coming back into the Basketball Market, they just took 10 Steps BACKWARDS. Do they not realize that USERs have different TASTES. Not everyone wants to have to play with the SAME Roster. I am guessing this means NO Customizable Draft Classes for LIVE as well. Looking like CURRENT GEN maybe the LAST gaming options for Editors.

as long as they are 100% accurate it doesnt matter too much.

my only real issue is that sometimes i like to use custom rosters and play past seasons like from when lebron was on the cavs.

This also confirms that I won't be purchasing the New NBA Live this year.

I understand the "players will be true to their real life counterparts" but some people like to make their own version too. Especially when it comes to accessories. If a NBA player changes to a new sleeve but someone likes the old sleeve better they can't put it back? What if the player wears different accessories throughout the season?

So once I start my dynasty will the players be updated through the "connected experience" or will the stay the same throughout?

No big deal to me. If someone asked me if I'd prefer living rosters that update every day vs. some guy's creation on OS, I'd take the living rosters every time.
