Well, I guess let's hope that EA provides good rosters that don't need to be hyper edited by the fans

Living rosters also don't guarantee that that data will translate into a realistic basketball experience.

One of the reasons this feature in Live 10 was so important. If I remember correctly there were 3 or 4 different attributes that were drastically overstated in the in game experience (Speed, athleticism and a couple others). Once the roster editors were able to drill down to the root issue and amend those ratings by team, it made the game play much more realistic as a whole.

Knowing that we won't be able to do this is an extreme disappointment, and remains an incredibly puzzling decision.

          History says No.

The first Madden CCM had no player editing. They then patched the functinality in. From the way I've seen the Live crew work, they'll keep updating accessories for Exihibition (Play Now games) and the Live Season rosters. But once you start your dynasty, that's it.

People seriously need to make an uproar about this. That's the only way they'll respond. If this isn't included in a Day 1 patch, let them hear about it.

The NG consoles are too powerful to not give us these options.

And I'm still waiting for clarification on in-game injuries. That is just unacceptable in a sports title.

Can we even create players outside of that bare-bones career mode?

This was a disappointing article for me. Completely avoided the injuries question... we can't edit players, which we've been able to do since freaking 1785. Very disappointing.

Correct. Keeping this updated daily is going to be an extremely daunting task, and envision some updates falling through the cracks through the course of a season.

Also this isn't taking into account the time between when the season ends and next years iteration is released that will pass without an update to be seen.

Exactly. I really don't see the great benefit of live updates because they have no impact once you start a dynasty/franchise.

Did you play Live 10? Pretty sure they successfully updated that game daily for the entirety of the season. I remember playing some late-season matchups with my buddy and the rosters were 100% accurate and up to date.

This is one of the main reasons I'm looking forward to Live so much. 100% authenticity throughout the NBA season.

If this is indeed true this is a huge letdown. Why remove the ability to customize completely? I get the idea of wanting to really show off the connected experience, but what if those player ratings don't translate or get abused in the actual in game product? Now we aren't able to adjust whatsoever to work around those issues?

This was a huge feature in Live 10 that did wonders for roster editing. Puzzling decision by EA to remove this.
Good Old EA.. At it again

I will still buy it cause I'm a sucker for basketball games. Plus I liked live 10 but who's bright idea was this? Every sports game you can edit. This is just stupid

Umm who cares? I'm sure the NBA Live crew can rate the players better than the community can. Stop being control freaks.

I doubt it!! 2k or EA the community roster always seem to make the gameplay better. IMO
