I never thought 2ks hockey was good. NHL destroyed it every year. Baseball? Haha! Um no. College football back in the day? Terrible. All pro football was OK. I was making it a point that ea makes other sports titles and generally, they're very good franchises. I hope finally Live can be included. Glory days coming back is my hope

Graphics are fine. The guys from operation sports on that podcast described everything looking Solid

Actually 2K's hockey game dominated NHL for a while and forced them to make a better hockey game. It "destroyed" it every year in the same sense that Madden destroys other football games, it sells better because of the name on the box and not the quality inside. Their baseball series was solid before the license. Who brought up college football? The point is you said 2K makes one good sports title trying to limit them to the sports games they currently have while giving EA credit for every good sports title they've ever made. FOH with that. Now let's get back on topic of Live, please.

2k hockey was trash, so too are their iterations of MLB baseball, college basketball was decent. 2k was great, but is growing stale due to its dependence on animation laden gameplay and lack of user control.

Both companies have a history of good titles, but EA has definitely been more consistent with their work. Here's to them returning to the basketball genre with a respectable effort.

Why did this turn into an argument about everything but Live?

            However, to humor this conversation

            Baseball: EA
College Basketball: 2K and it wasn't even close. March Madness was absolute trash.

Hockey: EA, but it was a situation eerily similiar to what PES went through where that game was on top, but refused to adapt until it was too late and the competition overtook them with a superior product.

NBA Basketball: 2K wins and it's not even close. EA had been absolute trash since 06, made a decent game in 10, but couldn't get out of the way of it's own bureaucracy and as such made games they couldn't even release because they tried to cloak and dagger the public before getting exposed. Happened with Elite (Bynum Jesus), didn't even try with 12, and 13 they intended to make it a downloadable title only, before getting exposed for how horribly bare bones it was and that was canceled too.

Football: A complete wash. If you want to argue Madden was better on last gen systems (Xbox, PS2) I wouldn't even argue with you. The quality of the products was that close. And then EA bought the license and proceeded to make some of the worst sports games ever made, including the massive debacle that was Madden 06 (which included CGI footage. They tried that ish this year. Everyone was like no bueno).

So...basically 2K baseball would be equivalent to Madden if you really want to make a comparison.

Now, back on topic: We wouldn't even be getting a demo if it wasn't for the PS4 mandating trials on every game for the system. However, I would like to try it and if I find it fun a purchase is likely, just for a change of pace. But if Live is straight trash I'm not spending my money on it. No, I'm not spending my money on something I don't enjoy.

Plus, giving a proper demo, we can all try it ourselves is the best marketing a gamer can get.

I still don't understand how all you 2K fanboys think paying out Live is helping? You should be wanting Live to do well so it pushes 2K to do more than just release a roster update each year.
2k hasn't needed Live pushing them to put out a quality game each year. Even when Live was out of the picture they were still cranking out great NBA games. Unlike EA, 2k doesn't seem to just sit around when they have no competition and make minor adjustments like EA did all those years with the football titles.

Not only inferior graphics and gameplay, but EA has more or less admitted that this is a test run to try and lay a foundation for future iterations. Why anyone would pay $60 for that is beyond me. But to each their own.
I don't either. I'm not shelling out money to be a tester for EA.

This confuses me a bit...and hope someome can shed some light on it real quick.

The Devs stated that in "live season" you can replay full games and scenarios. Saying something like if Lebron does a hook shot from 50 ft out and makes it, you will see it in the game that you replay. That will be cool to see, however does that mean NO MATTER what you do you can not stop that scenario from happening? No matter what you do he makes that basket? So if the Heat score 90 points that game..will they always score 90 (no more/no less) no matter how good you play D?

The mode sounds intriguing but not if that is true

Haha...i made that scenario up. I couldn't remember at the time who was in the video that was suggesting that if it happens in the real game it will happen in the replay. It was actually Kyrie Irving doing a crossover. He goes to his right stops and fades away for a jumper over a Knicks player. It then flashes to him doing it in Nba Live..suggesting if it happened in the real game it will happen in the Live replay as well.

Though...a 50ft hook shot is would be alot cooler than that play. So i chose that

lol interesting. but im 99.9% positive that they arent referring to specific scenarios like someone hitting a half court buzzer beater. rather they are saying that ratings and tendencies will be updated to reflect the real life game. the game itself wont play out exactly the same but you will get to play with those players who will have a similar game to what happened irl. i think the kyrie clip was just to emphasize that the players should play in the game like they did irl.

Ok...thank you. I was hoping that would be the case but was thrown off by that clip

Both RipCityAndy and scottyp180 make some good points. While showing gameplay would be nice perhaps they are concerned in that their graphics aren't 2Ks so they're trying to emphasize their strengths. I decided it's worth picking it up but it is a foundation for the future so decent sales now will allow them to build.

Its not worth picking up if its not even worth a next gen price tag, sell it for 29.99 like 2k was doing when it was better than live. In what world should consumers pay top dollar for gameplay and no graphics, only in EA's world lol. Gameplay is not there either, I know you were being generous, they could have sold it on the arcade or the playstation store
