Looks like its gone form "Well no one else is showing gameplay" to "I don't care about gameplay videos anyway..I'll wait for the demo"

If the demo doesn't come out it will probably be "We don't need a demo, it won't reflect actually gameplay anyway" Can't continue to make excuses man..

Pasta padre has a write up about how mismanaged everything has been leading up to release...smh... Was pretty much all in after the CourtQ trailer..

Eh. The one thing ppl want is other's opinions on the game as well as footage of 5 on 5 gameplay. But, YOUR OWN hands on opinion of the game & controlling the 5v5 gameplay is what's most important...after that happens, prerelease information is useless. If a demo wasn't available, it'd be different. But since it is, we just gotta be patient and hope to be pleasantly surprised on release day.

But she told me she still loved me.

i'll be honest. I forgot nba live 14 existed. I've been so busy with school and preparing for the excitement of the ps4 launch at the PS4 thread. lol.

So **** it. they don't care, neither do I LOL.

I'll give the demo a chance. Why not? its free!

For now, I'm more worried about my ps4 launch experience going smooth.

Well to be honest, most people don't need gameplay, because they are turned off when its EA's that should be trying to win our confidence back. Consumers are begging to give it back to ea. That's backwards. So yeah, if EA don't care, neither do I. We'll direct our attention somewhere else and money somewhere else.(This isn't a shot at the devs or anything. Its a shot at ea marketing)

great write up, thanks for the tip.

So, they're hiding it so they can say: "Play the demo and make a decision on your own. If it's good - Surprised, right? Now rush out and buy it. if it's bad - hey, we didn't try to sell you that it's amazing, did we? We didn't even try to show it to you".
            My Specs:

            ZX Spectrum
            CPU: Z80 @ 3.5 MHz
            GPU: Monochrome display
            RAM: 48 KB

I don't see a problem here. I think EA is already fully invested in Live like O'Brien said; one of his main reasons for coming back to Live. So it's really not about first year sales but rather building a foundation. Which is why they're probably not hyping up the marketing. They can fly under the radar and let word of mouth do the work, while already invested in making next years game even better

And I have to say the depth of passing, dribbling, playcalling, and the post game is already a great foundation and the controls are simple yet deep, not to mention the presentation. All they need to do is add the coating (animations) on those moves and they're on to something. I look forward for what they have for Live 15.

How do you know the foundation is great? We haven't seen any of these things in action as of yet...are you judging this from the dev videos?

It goes back to what yungflo said: People are begging EA to give them their money. I was almost one of those people until I woke up and said WTF? I'm over 30, so we all have that NBA Live nostalgia, and it blinds us from the obvious: This company is basically incapable of making a great basketball game.

We gave them 4 years of our hope and they are still disappointing us. But guess what, there are those that will hold out till the end and ignore that "underwear" in the bed lol.

What is the best predictor of the future? Past behavior. But some of us Live fans seem to ignore recent history and focus on the "good 'ol days". The younger generation is probably looking at us like we are crazy. My son laughs at me when I talk about NBA Live. He was 8 years old the last time they put out a game and he still played 2k back then lol.

                    maybe from the podcasts

seriously. who records a podcast of gameplay so that we can only hear it? lol thats some funny business.

I'm talking about from a control standpoint. The fact that the game has that much depth is great, its something that's missing from sports games today. Especially for someone like me who like to compete online, it's always nice to have an edge on your opponent because you took the time to learn the game not the exploits.

I'm judging from bouncetek videos, podcasts, open letters, impressions, hands on, twitter posts, blogs, and everything else. I've read posts on twitter saying that NBA Live is better than alot of people expected and they were surprised they weren't showing the game to the public, so when the demo hits we'll all know. I just don't get how everyone thinks they're all marketing geniuses all of a sudden when they have no idea what's really going on.

If the game is already invested for the next 3 years or so no matter what then who cares, they just want to put out a solid simulation of NBA Basketball, which is seems like they're building. People just hate EA because they're scared they're going to get the NBA license like 2k football. GET OVER IT! EA Markets and people say they're gimmicks and hyping up the game, they don't market and tell you to try it for yourself and people say they're not confident in their product.

They'll never be satisfied, but as for me I have no bias and I'll give the game a fair chance, I really have nothing to lose except a few minutes of downloading a demo.

Again - the controls have changed. It's more "authentic", remember? So, you don't KNOW what that means until you play it. So, how can you judge ANY of these at this point?

I'm judging from bouncetek videos, podcasts, open letters, impressions, hands on, twitter posts, blogs, and everything else. I've read posts on twitter saying that NBA Live is better than alot of people expected and they were surprised they weren't showing the
game to the public, so when the demo hits we'll all know.
And I'm sure someone say the EXACT opposite with the same reasons. You're just choosing to go by the bits of information that support your desired outcome.

I just don't get how everyone thinks they're all marketing geniuses all of a sudden when they have no idea what's really going on.
This is true. But, how do YOU know? For all you know, there may be a few people that work in marketing in their respective industry. You don't know.

If the game is already invested for the next 3 years or so no matter what then who cares, they just want to put out a solid simulation of NBA Basketball, which is seems like they're building.
And as many people have said; the people saying this are not the ones that can decide otherwise if the sales aren't good enough. So, yeah, someone can tell O'Brien that they are invested for 3 years. But that exec can change his mind whenever he feels like it. It's not as if they are making the game to fulfill some dream. It's to make money. And if they see that they can't make that money, they're out.

People just hate EA because they're scared they're going to get the NBA license like 2k football.
                            This is an immature statement.

                            1. Most people don't hate EA. They don't TRUST EA. Big difference.
                            2. There are those that may hate EA. But that's based on what they HAVE done (exclusive deals) and haven't done (make Madden as good as it can be). Not for what it might do. Again, that's mistrust. Not hate.
                            3. If people hate EA so much, why are they still buying their products in droves? Come on. Yes, to an extent, they have to. But BF4 is getting well deserved love.

GET OVER IT! EA Markets and people say they're gimmicks and hyping up the game, they don't market and tell you to try it for yourself and people say they're not confident in their product.
But EA DOES use gimmicks in marketing! Who doesn't?

They'll never be satisfied, but as for me I have no bias and I'll give the game a fair chance, I really have nothing to lose except a few minutes of downloading a demo.
Well, you got that "never be satisfied" right. But I'm pretty sure you can't say you're not biased. That's just my opinion.

I just want NBA live to be released, imo good decision by EA, people were gonna bash it to death anyway. They just gotta release a game so they have something build on

everyone is just guessing about why live doesn't have gameplay out.. the facts are that they don't so thats all we really know. whats the point of guessing why this or why that? just wait a few days patiently and see.
