just finished the college alumni challenge, really wished they can add players fro different points of their career like garnett/wolves and afro kobe. really starting to love this mode. that's the hs prodgies team btw

Two Christmas Day challenges are up.

All you have to do is win 2 games to complete each challenge. The reward for each is a gold pack.

Is the "xp" that you earn tied to this mode? I have close to 50, 000 points that I have no clue what to do with. I'm assuming its for buying packs?

The "XP" in the upper right corner corresponds to your gamertag's NBA Live "level."

As your gamertag levels up, you earn free Ultimate Team card packs.

I just hit level 35, and the reward was a free silver card pack. Thankfully, there were no duplicates in that one.

I just finished the last of the four Christmas Day challenges that are up now. Though I'm guessing one more may be coming since I haven't played the Warriors or Clippers yet.

All-time, I've now opened 10 gold packs and 5 gold premium packs, yet I have not seen a single legend player or star of the week player.

EA just does not want to give these special cards out. But they have no problem giving you countless duplicate players. I've lost count of how many gold duplicates I've had, and with no marketplace, all you can do is discard them for pennies.

On the plus side, I am impressed with how many challenges they've crammed into this game, as well as how frequently they're updating them.

I've gotten two star of the week players but no legends. Look on YouTube, tons of guys have gotten lots of legends.

How do you have such a great record? I've gotten my butt handed to me repeatedly by the Rebounding leaders fantasy challenge. Also I got 85-86 Nique in my 3rd Gold premium pack.

My strategy is to start twin towers at power forward and center, then I surround them with outside shooters at the other three positions.

Right now my lineup is:

Jose Calderon
Danny Green
Gordon Hayward
Demarcus Cousins
Brook Lopez

I run my offense out of the post until double teams start coming, then I kick it out to my open shooters when the computer doubles down.

I play with "ratings only" shooting turned on, which makes it a little easier to hit shots.

Honestly, since the patch I've had a heck of a time with the shot timing. It used to be money esp kicking out from a doubled Duncan to Bonner (90) or Ray Allen (93) but I cant time their shots at all now. And I thought they expanded the timing window..

Nique, however, is an absolute beast. Midrange pullups, nasty dunks in traffic, terror on the break.

Yeah Calderon (91 3-point rating) and Green (90 3-point rating) were missing a ton of open shots for me, so that is why I made the switch to ratings only shooting.

With ratings only shooting turned on, you will hit a much better percentage of open looks with skilled players.

I just wish they would allow us to use ratings only shooting online. Currently, there is no way.

Difficulty level definitely affects how lenient the timing window is. On Pro difficulty and below, the timing window is very forgiving.

On All-Star and Superstar difficulty, your shot timing pretty much has to be perfect.

Ive been mainly in UT so thats where i've really noticed it since I had a couple lights out shooters. Now i'm struggling not just with them but others like Royal Ivey, Stackhouse, Shard Lewis and Mike Miller whose shot timings i absolutely had down. Difficulty differs with the different fantasy matchups but its been mostly on Pro.

I think it's the Rebounds per game team that I just cant do anything with.

I've always hated turning off shot timing as a factor so I'm hoping that practice mode is actually in the works and comes sooner rather than later.
