    Reoccurring issue with Synergy?

Happened to run past this video on Jao's channel...and saw something I've seen a couple of times while playing:

Reminded me of this from Live 10:

In the Live '14 vid, at least the ball was passed to the wide open man, but he didn't shoot the wide open shot...

Do you guys think this is just an occasional glitch or an issue with Synergy that tendencies are so hard coded the AI can't make snap decisions based on the situation?

    Re: Reoccurring issue with Synergy?

My conclusion is that the game requires the user to try and play "sim" or at least behave a certain way for Synergy (CourtQ), and the game in general, to work properly. If you abandon your assignment on defense, like in that video, the game just doesn't understand how to analyze the situation.

Scott has time and time again explained the very intricate AI in the game, and when you run plays and try to stick to your man on defense, I see it. If you accidently end up on the wrong side of the court, behind the offensive dribbler, or just cherry pick, the game can't figure out what to do since that just does not happen in the NBA, which the game is trying so hard to replicate. So it kinda pauses to try and lure the user back to where they, belong?, to continue on.

This would explain the lapse in AI in that video, why plays/motion break when the user stops moving, and why the game can show glimpses of greatness (or at least great potential) if you defend properly and move around on offense.

TL;DR, I think the game is depending on the user as a play/AI initializer too much.

Hopefully as Synergy evolves they can make the A.I more adaptive...things like this is why people started calling Live '10 "scripted"...and honestly I would agree since your somewhat being forced into a role...

Lies smh. People really need to chill with the false stuff about it forcing you to play sim. WTF is sim about the CPU not attacking when wide open. It does not matter if you stan at the other end of the court or sag all the way off your man, the game is just not deep enough to decipher these things. Synergy has always been garbage and never created a "NBA experience" on the court, especially compared to how well the tendancies work in the other game now and back in 2010.

How the hell can dudes see a CPU not take advantage of anythng, and then say its a way of being sim????? Are you guys serious????? There is nothing "sim" about this game, nothing at all. I cant believe you trolls. Im all for standing up for what you believe in, but stop with the forcing this "real basketball" crap down our throats, its false information.

This game is just so funny. Im one of the few that believes the game is decent, not horrible and not great.

Now so far I havent got pass the demo(might return ps4 till next year) but I believe the 4 team roster updates every time. I have not had some of the issues that others have as far as the cpu goes.

Cpu moves the ball pretty well and they dont hesitate to shot open jumpers.

                Agree with you 313.

You can literally keep your defender in the backcourt while the CPU has a 5 on 4 set play. The open man will either never get the ball or if the ballhandler is open, he'll pass it to someone the play dictates he should.

No dynamics in the AI whatsoever.

                    Reoccurring issue with Synergy?

Got a question. Is the Daily Synergy not updating daily/hourly?? They game hasn't even been out 2 weeks surely they haven't abandoned it right??

Can you tell the difference from Superstars/Reserve players??

I believe it does update all the time.

Can't tell what happens but every time you check it says rosters are updating.

Just a pity they didn't update the actual, you know, roster. No point having all the latest stats if they players aren't on the right team or in the right position.

As far as CPU players go, yes you can easily see the difference in quality of players. And they feed the stars constantly too.

And as funny as it is, if you do play good D, the CPU does run some nice plays.

But alas for every positive, this game has 10 negatives.

How can synergy be real? It claims to update player stats, where they shoot from, play exactly as they did in their last game. So, given that Derrick Williams last game was with Sacramento but for EA he is still playing as a T Wolf, how can that be real? How can they have put on his DNA into the game when he doesn't even play for the team on the current roster.

This is what I'm trying to figure out. Synergy can't be getting updated as advertised or it is completely broken??

Now for someone who bought the game strictly for this feature, I feel really bad for because this was a big selling point.
