Re: EA - Stop lying to us

    All good

I'm just trying to make Live a better game and EA (who have publicly stated they want to be the best company in the USA) realize they can't make empty promises.

I seen this type of fiasco before from EA and I learned my lesson from past non pre release video not being shown of Nba Live games. I saw how they handled Ncaa Basketball 10. I will be the first to say that was a DAMN SHAME how they treated the loyal consumer with that game. They let people purchase that game and they knew it was BUSTED/BROKEN

The features that they promised and can't even deliver on this game is just mind boggling. I can't even imagine what sales are for this game but no way will sales be better for the next.

I will say this again. There won't be a Live 15 and that's just my opinion. I've seen this Dog & Pony show before

The game just wasn't ready to be released, that's the thing it comes down to. I'm under the impression that they tried to use one dev cycle to complete this game, while using elements from Elite 11 and Live 13. Both games being cancelled should have told them not to do that.

With all this time they've had off, they should have been building a new engine, or, at least using the Live 10 engine, improving on it tremendously and making it next gen.

The art department is just, amateur for a next gen title. There's NO way some of the faces should look the way they do, LeBron James being a good example. It's like EA is an indy gaming company, and they want people to buy this first year title for support, so they can have enough sales to make the next one.

That's just not how it works, especially with a company like EA that has millions of dollars, probably more. The fact of the matter is, this team is just not good at making basketball games, at least not right now.

Very true. Imagine if they did that now and just released one patch or so fixing gameplay issues. Imagine how good the games would be.

Re: EA - Stop lying to us

I have to take back my last post because I think EA is done with this franchise.
After doing research on Google for EA financials, sports games devs/R&D expenses are going down and not up. Next vgchartz cannot even track how many copies of Nba live 14 have been sold, which is not good. If the EA suits continue to lower the budget, then how do we expect Live 15 to improve much? They are not going to keep investing in something that continues to see no return, so they are done with this title in my opinion. I believe we will get a press release later next year from Peter Moore saying that they will be taking another hiatus with this title.

And we have a winner. It makes me sad when I think about what this game could have been.

                Times have surely changed.

Thing is, games are much more involved than they used to be. And sports games are still stuck on the one year cycle (or the 3 1-year cycle in the case of Live), so there's more to do, more pieces to fit together, and the same time to do it in. I think games still do a decent job on release and I appreciate the post release support in general, but it gets dicey with sports games because at some point they feel like they need to cut losses and improvements are something they can sell in the next iteration.

I really hope EA doesn't give up on Live. Live 14 has a ton of issues, but for some reason I enjoy it more than the other options out there.

What I want fixed the most is the fast breaks, because there is none.
