Question about Live and PSN

Since I won't be getting PSN for a while. If I do get Live, will I be able to download all the patches, roster updates etc. without PSN?

i think you can, the only think you can't do is play online. I popped in 2k14 before I activated my ps+ and it automatically began updates. I'm not sure about roster updates, but patches I think they definitely will let you download without a membership

i got some free 7 day psn codes. because im not a first time psn member, it won't let me use them. if you want it, i can get one to you

I appreciate that, I really do, but because I do not want to use a credit card and since activating trial cards requires one this would not work for me.

Get a PayPal debit card or a prepaid debit card. 2013 stuff like this is easy.

I personally use PayPal debit. Get a email the moment anything is charged.

buy a giftcard those visa gc at the gas station and use that.

Went to my local EB Games(Canada's version of GameStop) and found these PS+ cards that are like membership cards. I researched a little an found out credit cards are not needed to redeem them so I will use these. Thanks for all the advice and suggestions though.

Yeah I remember reading a popup when I enter the 30 day trail. Something about automatic monthly payment for psn+.

Can someone try experimenting with wether or not roster updates and that work without PS+. I would also like to know if you can start (not play online just start) ultimate team and play fantasy challenges.

You never have to pay to get patches. A normal account is all you need. A plus account if you want to play online.

Ugh, I just opened up the game popped it in and I can't do NOTHIN without PS+. Won't let me do roster updates, play live season or anything. This sucks.

Sorry I didn't see this thread sooner. Correct. You can get patches. But you can't get the Synergy stuff because you have to log into the EA servers. But you can't do that unless you have PSN.
