nba live pc substitution question

this is gonna come across as real dumb, but for the life of me i cant figure out how to sub in the pc version of this game. i go to the sub screen and my controller wont navigate anything, my mouse lets me click on different players but i cant get anyone new into the game. wonder if it has anything to do with my non supported ps2 controller i am using with the usb adapter. never could get that to work had to relearn the buttons it defaults to. also i cant figure out to save my settings?

I think you take the mouse, click on the player's name, and drag him to the player you want to sub out. You have to let go of the mouse button when you do this. I'm not 100% certain this is how you do it, as I don't pay attention to controls that much----I can't even tell you what button does what off the top of my head.
